Eco-Biz
Review:
In
a new interview series, HappyHippie.com will take a look at
what inspires our eco-retailers to do what they do, and information
on their business.
This week's
featured Eco-Biz is: Intergalactic
Rose
In
a time when the majority of our clothing is mass produced over-seas,
in deplorabe conditions, we give a happy nod to home-grown
business Intergalatic Rose. Each inspired piece is true art,
and crafted with care. Read on for the bio:
Intergalactic
Rose is small family business, that got started
when owner, Kate, had a beautiful baby girl in 2002. Having
already been sewing patchwork clothing like so many other
mamas and papas on the lot, she shifted focus from making
enough money to get from show to show, to making enough money
to support her daughter.
Over
the past 5 years, she has been able to work at home and raise
her daughter, with lots of support from her rockin' family and
wonderful customers. Each piece of clothing is made one at a
time, with lots of love and great attention to detail. Drawing
inspiration from music, nature, friends & family, Kate incorporates
color therapy into her work, and uses high quality & sustainable
fabrics to insure that you are buying a peice of clothing that
will be with you through many journeys.
Kate says, "Its really all about family -- our little family and our larger
family on earth. I love what I do, and love sharing it with other people. Our
mission at Intergalactic Rose is to share the beauty we see in the world, one
piece of clothing at a time. We really believe in the dream, and your support
helps our family lead the life we love and teach the children well."
