Hey there!! ~~ Well, I am in Portland for 10 more days - then the long journey to PA begins!! ~~ I think we are gonna take the Southern route home - otherwise I'd love to see your shop in Idaho!! ~~ Idaho was really beautiful - I had no idea it was so lovely until we got there ; 0 ) ~~ I really want to see the desert, though - so, I think we are gonna head down & over ~~ When we do get to PA we are gonna anchor in a lil town called Clarion ~~ We rent a lil house on the river and live by the beautiful Cook forest ~~ I am a bit sad to leave the Northwest because I love the energy here ~~ but, we gotta go!! ~~ Lots of beautiful people back in Pa, though - just gotta poke around..... |

He he ~~ Yeah, Clarion is kind of in the middle of nothing ~~ my husband is finishing his last semeser at the university, we were in Portland for his internship ~~ I miss Portland already!! ~~ But, Clarion is a beautiful town ~~ we rent a small house right on the riverbank near the Cook Forest ~~ It is stunning right now ~~ All the trees are glistening with sparkling snow & the deer come in my backyard to feed everyday ~~ I am happy here ~~ I did my undergrad studies here, so I have some family around - no "scene" really, but lots of good people ~~ My kinfolk are from Erie area ~~ it is pretty "bleh" too - except Forward Hall is back in effect - Yeah! ~~ I love going to shows with my sister up there ~ If anyone wants to join me for some hiking in the mighty allegheny - just email me! ~~ hugs-->rebecca lee www.patchpixie.com |

I'm from Doylestown, and frequently go to New Hope to hang out. Friends of mine are in a band that play at John and Peters once in a while. I'll let you all know next time they play. Anyway, so I just graduated college (with an art degree) and I'm looking for a job. Possibly anything alternative/environmental/artsy. Does anyone have any suggestions of where I could start my search? Thanks. |

Soon I will be in PA! I'm moving the PA from Eugene Oregon and we should be there about mid May... I was accepted to vend at Creekside, but had to turn it down since it's only a week and a half after we get there and not enough time to prepare.... too bad, but I'm hoping for Endless Mountains. We're moving to Holtwood (Lancaster) and I'm not sure how far away that is to everyone else, but would definetly like to meet some cool people before I even get out there, so feel free to drop me a line ang@alteredstatement.com Patchpixie... it already sound like you've made your way back east from Portland... how long did it take you and did you have any pets with you? I'm not really looking forward to the drive... I've already done it a couple of times. It'll be fun though... just tring to do it as fast as we can! It's great to look over this post of various PA folks... makes me feel like it's going to okay, that maybe PA won't be so bad catch ya later, ang |

Hi people in PA I grew up in Bucks County north of Philly. I am 26 and lived in Flagstaff Arizona for a few years and god do I miss that place..but now I am back for a brief stay.... I think Pennsylvania is a bee~utiful place you know our state is over 60% rural which is the only state that can lay claim to that fact. ( Forestry professor in AZ told me this ) But I have to say Bucks County home to New Hope PA has changed quite a bit since its Glory days as being a hippie haven. New Hope and the surrounding areas are being attacked by suburban sprawl which has been very sad for me and my family to watch. The land in Bucks County has been ripped apart by Toll Brothers a national home builder who unfortunately grabbed up most of the land by offering deals to old farmers that they could not pass up. Some did though thanks to some conservation efforts and the Nature Conservancy. So now this place is filled with Yuppies tons and tons of yuppies. Now and Then the classic head shop in New Hope that a few of you referenced is gone now.. offically closing its doors the begining of August..why because the owner of the store (it has been there since 1967) had to close its doors because the owner of the building sold the lot to a couple that are transforming it into their home. New Hope is a sad scene and anyone who happens to land on this cute river town would be able to see what it may have held and what has changed it (just take a look at Havana a hot yuppie outdoor bar on Main Street) and yes I have been to John and Peters a lot in my day probably the only good thing left in that town..and another thing there are no heads here at all. My boyfriend had to cut his hair when we got back to bucks county just to get a job. And besides that there are not any cool liberal minded people here and the ones that are are probably like me and my boy hiding out until we get out of this place! I have gotten pulled over 3 times since my arrival home beacuse of my vehicle a 78 bus. Talk about profiling! I guess I need to be driving a BMW. We get stared at like we are aliens. We are anticipating a move back to Flagstaff in Summer 2005. I cannot wait! We have looked at other areas like north of here allentown, stoudsburg, Etc. but are not sure.. thanks for all you other pa heads for keeping it real~~ As much as we love Pennsylvania this is where my roots are.. It absolutely SADDENS me what has happened to where I grew up.. I am still proud but do not fit in anymore even the kids I grew up with have turned into "machines". It is very sad so if any of you heads reading this are from Bucks lower Bucks I should say (Upper is still quite rural for now) hang in there and do not let the yuppie influence get to you!!!! in love and light a gr8tful girl. |

I'm from Wellsboro, PA, not too many people know where that is. But at the moment I'm usually in Williamsport which is near State College. Also my boyfriend is from Youngsville (near Warren) and we head up that way quite a bit. We are dying for some company though!! We have a 2 yr old and don't get out to socialize too much and we're in need of some adult company. It'd be super cool to meet some like minded folks who also have children so we could all hang out and do family oriented stuff... lol... Also Patchpixie I think I saw you vending up at Blue Heron this summer. Your clothes are beautiful Well if anyone is interested in hangin out or something please get ahold of me hazenday@yahoo.com Also any family who is traveling through my area and would like a nice place to rest along their journey should get ahold of me |
