I am completely sick of my job here and really really want to do something completely different. You will know from my previous post that more than anything I want to come to America (from England). Thing is, I need work to make this viable. Does anyone know how difficult it is to work abroad, even just for a few months. I am a teacher, so I am qualified to do that, but mainly I teach kids singing, and run lots of harmony groups. I would love to be able to do that, as well as experience a new country. I would be REALLY grateful for anyone's thoughts!! THANKS!! XxxX |

I'm no expert or anything, but I wound't think you'd have much trouble finding something in that field. Your being a non-american might even be an advantage. Your best bet would probably be with some sort of community center, or maybe some sort of daycare or summer program. I'm sure you could get a job as a summer camp counselor or something like that... |

Hi ~ you can try looking on Monster.com for job postings - I looked up singing instructor and got some listings for a Gymboree play school - if you are interrested in Asheville, NC - http://www.iwanna.com/ This is the classified listings for that area - Maybe that would be of some help - although with monster you can search all over the US. |

I'd suggest looking into the national standards for certification in education if you want to work in the public school system. Then, each state also has it's own standards. Though America is generally in need of teachers, many places have cut funding for the arts, so it would be in your best interest if you could teach another subject as well as the singing classes. |

Hey JJ, do you know of any other websites where they post jobs for asheville? I just graduated with my medical records degree, and I am planning to go back for nursing. If you know a job bank site for healthcare, pleas post it on this board... thank you very much!------------------ Peace cannot be achieved by violence, it can only be attained through understanding!~Albert Einstein
