Topic: Djembe Drums???

Don't you just love the sound of the djembe drum? I do so much that I want to learn to play it... so first i need to actually own one! Does anyone know of a good place online to order a djembe drum? Or have any advice for me when looking for one? I'm so excited! Music is great.... |

Here in portland there is a shop called African rhythm traders, and it's a great place. I think they have a website where you can order stuff too... |

I got my digeridoo there, and the strat and the bass, its has to be the coolest music store I've ever been in, walk through the doors and there's people all over playing little riffs and a bunch of different instruments, huge cd selection (not a lot of "mainstream" which I see as a good thing)
and most importantly (compared to the 2 other stores close to me) I walk in ask a questiona and I am treated like a friend, rather than some guy wasting their time, it may cost a few bucks more here, but I shop by total value, not just price |

if you are in The twin cities of MN, i could probably hook you up with a djembe. Awhile back i got hooked up with a guy in africa, i bought 8 drums- sold them all, and at very reasonable prices...
i don't think life is about money, and believe there is somthing powerful in music, rythem, drums... so ya. Been thinking of buying a bunch more. I don't want to mail, but if anyone is in the NH area, or MN area (live in mn, visit parents in nh) and is intrested... i could persue this

look into a site called African Creations, they are a fair trade organization and have some really nice hand made instruments really reasonably priced too! I know that the drums can be really pricey chow tina |
