LEGALIZE IT!!

Once legalized and permitted, whatever the minor restrictions, it is then YOUR responsibility. Just like the legal use of alcohol, gambling, medicine, and ciggarettes. If you smoke weed, make sure you fully understand the health risks involved. If you smoke, eat, or partake of marijuana in any other manner, make sure you are not driving, endangering yourself or others in any sort of way.
YOU are taking on the responsibility of your actions, once the goverment allows us to posses, use, and hopefully grow our own marijuana. They will hold you to that responsibility, you can be sure of that!

In Holland in the 70's, when marijuana was legalized, crime rates dropped dramatically.

Hi Dana!

I suggest you rent a documentary titled, "Hemp Revolution." If you have Netflix, you can rent it there. It's filled with loads and loads of objective, valuable information that will help you in your research.

Though I am not a pot smoker, I think that it should be legalized. I believe that it should be made legal for both medicinal and recreational purposes. I do not think that it should be a competition between substance abuse, about which one is worse than the other. Because, although Marijuana is certainly addictive mentally, it is not a significantly dangerous drug physically. Also, it's pro's far outweigh it's cons. I think that our government should create jobs and funds by marketing something that can be so widely used.

Also, I hear your school will be doing random drug testing. How do you feel about this?

Everyone should have a choice to smoke it. If alchohol were not legal, there would still be people drinking. No ones ever died from smoking a joint. It actually has many medicinal purposes. Can't say that about alchohol. The only reason that is legal is because they can tax it, and profit. They cant profit off something you can grow in your backyard. I actually had a major eating disorder until I started smoking erb. Everything can be abused, but its all about choice.

Let's look at this subject from a logical point of view. All over this country, we have pharmacists prescribing all kinds of drugs that do all kinds of wierd things to the chemicals in your brain, under the disguise of "medication". People take these *drugs*, trusting that they'll correct a chemical imbalance, make them less depressed, or help them pay better attention. But what alot of people don't realize is that we've arrived in an age where the drugs we can obtain through a prescription, or even over the counter at wal-mart, are far more dangerous than any amount of marijuana will ever be. We have kids and young adults purposely over-dosing on cough syrups and allergy pills for the psychedelic effects... Something that can lead to a very bad experience or God forbid, death. The government has labeled marijuana as being a "gateway" drug, implying that at some point or another, the user will eventually move on to try atleast one other drug. In my opinion, this is to some extent true, but not by any scientific basis. The reason people end up on other drugs, atleast in my own personal experience, is because of the inability to obtain marijuana. We eventually find ourselves without any marijuana, and no one to supply it. So we seek out other means of intoxication. Thats when we discover the wonderful world of otc and prescription medications, or the nasty underbelly of the drug peddling under world. By this logic, would it not seem probable that if marijuana were legalized and regulated, that the number of users of other drugs would decrease? Of course this isn't the only reasoning behind my drive to see marijuana legalized. Like I've already stated, we're in an age where the drugs we can legally obtain can be just as, if not (as in most cases) more harmful than marijuana. Let me feed you a simple scenario. Joe and Bob... Joe goes to stay at Bobs house for the night. They're both pretty much regular users of marijuana. Usually, they'll smoke and play video games or watch a movie, maybe order some pizza. Joe tells Bob to call his connect to get some weed, but when he calls no one answers. So they start getting anxious, really wanting to catch a good buzz. So Bob remembers reading on the internet about how they can trip from drinking a bottle of cough syrup and kind of half jokingly suggests it. They talk about it for a while and decide to do it. They walk up to wal-mart and pick up two bottles of robitussin for just a little over 10$. They get back home ready to get high and chug the syrup. They start feeling it and really get into it. After a while, Joe starts freaking out though. He's having a bad trip, which escalates into a panic attack. At this point he's feeling as if he's losing control of himself and is really freaking out. Eventually Bob finds himself in a position where he has to tell his parents what's going on, which turns into a trip to the ER for Joe. This isn't some far-fetched "what if" scenario. It happens alot. But if marijuanna were legalized and regulated to be sold to persons 18 or 21 and older, Joe and Bob could've went to the corner store which is a block closer to Bob's house, and bought a pack of Marijuana cigarettes for the same price as their fun trip to the ER. Lets just look at it for what it really is. People want marijuana just like people wanted alcohol. And the simple fact of the matter is that people that want it bad enough are going to do whatever they can to get it. This translates into street warfare, unecessary jail time, and all kinds of other needless scenario's. And lets not forget people like Joe and Bob that end up paying 10 dollars to look like an ass at the hospital, when they could've enjoyed a relaxed environment at home with some legal bud. And no matter how you look at that, there is no amout of marijuana that can do to you what alot of otc & prescription drugs can do to you. Not to mention the other illegal drugs.

Legalize the damn thing. It's been used for thousands of years and even by some of the most innovative minds the world has ever seen, so you know that weed has no bearing on intelligence or the killing of brain cells. If anything, drug addiction should be looked at the way Ralph Nader looks at it, that addiction should be considered a health problem and not a crime. But that only applies to extreme drugs like cocaine or heroin, not weed. So legalize it dammit. And if you don't believe me as to the value of weed, you don't have to, but rather you should take the initiative yourself and do the research which will prove to you that weed is not harmful, should not be illegal, and is actually quite fun and mind expanding.

i'm 100% drug free

I say legalize it cause it'll put a hurting on all the importation, and maybe help the governemt to focus on problems with more severe drugs, rather than chasing guys with a few lbs. of pot

i think it should be legalised, its not such a bad thing as some people make it out to be, just because you smake it oocasionally, doesn't mean that you are a druggy. it's just a nice way to relax every now and then and have a laugh. ok so some people can get addicted to it but for some reason i think that if you legalize it the fasination of trying it will disaapper (or however you spell it) it just wont seem so amazing to try it n e more. i dunno, im probably wrong but i think it should be legalised n e way. peace out xxxx
