I'm not a hippie, but I love that stuff. I think around here the term hippie is pretty loose; really there aren't many true hippies these days...

Yey! course you can! being a hippie is more about hippie values such as peace, saving the environment and accepting people for who they are.
Im a hippie and I like loads of music: The basics like Led zep and jimi hendrix too the manic street preachers, queens of the stoneage and alice cooper!

i think these days the term "hippie" pretty much means somebody who is just anti-establishment, anti-government, pro-conspirisy, you know... just about anything that not mainstream and not punk rock.

I for one am not a liberal. I don't associate myself with any political party or agenda; I use that gelatinus thing between my ears to evaluate issues that matter to me and decide where I stand. I probably have many different opinions that could be labeled as belonging to one particular political stance, or even more than one at the same time. For example: Abortion. I think it's wrong, it's something I hope I will never be a part of, and I would not be happy if someone I knew was. However, I feel very strongly that it should be legal because our bodies belong to us as individuals, not the government, not a god, no authority figure. Another example would be guns. It seems like almost everyone who is not a conservative republican type wants to outlaw and regulate guns. This is absurd; if I want to own a goddamn bazooka and carry an uzi under my coat, I should have that right. Anyway, I'm no liberal, and if you mess with me on the street I just might shoot you. :-D
