hey. im not a vegetarian but its something ive always wished i had the will power to be. however, i honestly dont like most foods. i often have trouble ordering things at restaraunts, for example, because they'll be covered in some sort of weird sauce or have all thes werid thigns on them. i eat only simple thigns like cereals, spagetti, pizza, sandwiches, and i love chicken. i just dont see a way in my life how i COULD be a vegetarian because i hate most vegetables. i dont know what to do cuz i feel hypocrytical eating meat, but a vegeatarian lifestyle just doesnt seem plausible for me since i hate so many foods. are there suggestions out there? |

i've been a vegetarian for 10 years now, starting back in 2nd grade, and when i started, i was probably one of the pickiest eaters alive...and to be quite honest, i just about lived off of cereal, pasta, and other carbohydates until just recently...if you're serious about going veggie, but don't like vegetables etc.. try going about the change slowly...give up one type of meat at a time, and introduce one new food... there are a TON of different fruits and vegetables out there, and if you start trying some, you might surprise yourself...you can always try raw vegetables with different dips or types of hummus, and cooking them in soy sauce, or incorporating them into your spaghetti sauce is a great way to start. as for chicken...there are a ton of substitutes out there for meat, and if you have a trader joe's near you pick up some soy nuggets...(like chicken nuggets). if you are still really concerned, before you actually start giving up meat, try new foods and find vegetarian foods that you like so when you do go vegetarian you have some options... email me at maddythom@hotmail.com if you have questions, want more ideas, or even want recipes with foods you DO like. goooooood luck! | |
