I've been basically a vegetarian for months now but I'm an older teen and my family is concerned that I'm not getting enough protein. I've had chicken a few times but I'd really like to cut it out altogether. I do still eat seafood because my mom insists. Does anyone have any really good, easy sources of protein that I could get to appease my concerned family?

Beans are cheap and easy sources of protein. Red beans and rice, garbanzo beans in a curry, black bean salsa, Pinto beans mashed with a little garlic for burritos. Baked beans topping a baked poato is one of my favs. Depending on your resources you may want to try out marinated tofu and/or veggie burgers. The human body doesn't require as much protein as many Americans believe it does. Check out www.vrg.org/ for great information including nutition. If its important to you to no longer consume animals I would suggest arming yourself with the facts to support your beliefs.
