I have been a vegetarian for a year now, and i am going to be moving in with my boyfriend in a little while. The thing is he isn't vegetarian, but he does eat meat from the farmer's market. He likes to eat veggie sometimes, and it works out b/c it is when he stays at my place is when he eats veggie. How can incorporate meat into our meals without having to alter my lifestyle, and not have to make a bunch of food that could be wasted? |

Who does most of the cooking? That might help determine what to do. If it's you, you can exercise cook's privileges... |

I live with my boyfriend who isn't a veg. and things work out fine. The thing is, your boyfriend probably doesn't eat meat every night, so when you are cooking, things should be fine. He might even open up to new tastes. When he's cooking, you might have to make something else if he's cooking meat, but i found that very often I can have pasta, a portobella or something else replacing the meat. (Let's say there's some kind of sauce that he's made for meat...it might work on something that you're making.) I think things will work out fine, as long as you don't have a problem with him eating meat (meaning some people are completely against having meat in their home) But otherwise, you'll be fine. I wish you peace in your adventure of living with him, it's a difficult journey but all worth it. Kat |

I've been vegan for a few years (vegetarian for 12 or 13) and I live in a house with 8 other people, none of whom are vegetarian. It is definitly challenging sometimes but if you make really hearty soups and dishes with lost of zest they never miss the meat! |

i was practically living with my boyfriend who wasnt veggie, he tried to stop eating meat and then relized that it was my lifestyle and not his. What happened was that he ened up just buying me chineese food from were he worked. He made sure it didnt have nay bad stuff in it and he got what he wanted and all that. Whenever we did eat and cooked it ened up beaing a meal that was vegitarian nayway. Dont know if that helps... or if you like chineese |

Thanks all for your replies we have a system where i will make him stuff with meat, and i will just omit it from my meal. When he makes dinner he just makes yummy vegetarian stuff for the both of us. it is nice b/c he doesnt eat meat as much as he used to, and he likes to eat tofu too! So i am happy with the situation i am in. Thank you again everyone. Peace, Carly |
