I tried to make my own home-made one out of a lightbulb and a candle. It seemed to be working but I couldn't stand the way the weed tasted...it just reminded me of mold. One hit almost made me gag. Thought I was licking a moldy piece of bread.

(one would wonder if THAT'S why that weed seemed so psychedelic...) :o


Mind you, I have the world's most sensitive nose and taste buds...

But, theoretically, you don't get the tars and crap that you do from smoking it.

Those are only midline vaporisors.

The best, by far, for cannabis consumption is the uber expensive and world renowned Volcano.

Do not buy a vaporiser (from a store) for less than $100 - you will probably be less than satisfied.

yeah, the ritual of smoking is definately essential. I tried a friend's volcano once and WOW. it really is worth the money. if I could invest I'd sure get one just for the chronic habit, but I'd still smoke a fatty with friends while out and about. the volcano is probably the tastiest, cleanest, and most effective way I've used cannabis.

I have an Herbalaire...made by medical patients, for medical patients. It cost a little over $200 and is well worth it. I am a medical patient, and smoking rarely does the job...even though I have excellent medicine ;) It just takes so much smoking to cure my ails....anyways, vaporizing gets the job done with half as much herb. The herbalaire is nice and compact, easy to use, and comes with the bag attachments the same as the volcano, although I never use them. It's great without the bags.

Vaporizing is way better than smoking, in my opinion. Also, when using the vaporizer, I don't get any of the noteworthy effects of smoking, such as red, dry eyes, and real dry mouth....which is really nice.

It's not just about getting 'toys'.....it's about NOT getting the tars and other toxins created with herbs during combustion. (Plus the effects are way better)

Let me tell you it doesn't have to be very expensive. I have a portable Vapor Genie and a Vapir Mini....which work great and were $49 and $99 ($139 wth optional battery pack). Not bad...but great and useful.
