Here's my trouble with the recipies I found at that site: I'm not an extraordinay chef by any means. I can follow a recipe and even get creative and make a pie crust from scratch and cook a nice dinner... but my knowledge of preparation is basic and my pots and pans are the same. So, I feel discouraged by a lot of the recipes I saw on this site and see on many sites because I don't have the pans they tell you to use... like I don't have a paella pan, for instance, or I just don't know what the ingredient is. And if I can't buy it locally, it's just not worth the trouble to me. I'll bet I'm missing out and these things are delicious. They certainly sound delicious... but I just dont have time. I want to run to the market and get the ingredients without the need of multiple specialty stores.

I've noticed that too, Anna. A lot of veggie recipe sites do have things I've never heard of. Sometimes, tho, it's a common ingredient that is renamed. Go figure, lol.
But, if it's only available in a speciality store, well, that counts me out. I shop at cheap cheap stores.
Sometimes it's European words. For example, on one site they called for treacle- which is molasses in the U.S. Europe says "scones", I say biscuits. etc.
Now I have to go find out what kind of pan that is, just for curiosity's sake.
Peace,
Cass

Ok, paella is rice. The pan is just a frying pan that can go in the oven. It has two loop handles instead of one long one. It supposedly holds heat after being cooked, but what metal pan doesn't hold heat after being in the oven?? Sheesh, lol.
They'll try to sell us anything................

Yeah, it's a large, heavy frying pan with two handles. Paella is a Spanish rice dish. The nice thing about the internet is that all you have to do is type these words or names into Google, and you instantly find out what they mean. Then, you can figure out if it's omething unreasonable, or maybe you can substitute something else. A good paella pan is expensive, but a cast iron wok would probably work just as well. Or even a regular fry pan, if you make a bit smaller batch.

All I cook with is cast iron pans, except fried eggs they stick. I have one large skillet, a dutch oven and a smaller skillet, rinse them off, oil them and thats it, I love my cast iron pans. Teflon ones dont compare at all.
once they are seasoned they really are great.
and some of those recipes are good I printed a few.

lots of recipes....but lots of them use dairy products or eggs and and I don't eat anything that comes from animals...if you have a link about organic food, just let me know. The bad thing about eating organic is that most of the recipes seem to be kind of difficult to cook(for an amateur cook,of course), i got a book, but it just makes all the recipes look difficult to cook.

You could try doing a search on World War 11 recipes. Meat was hard to come by then so people came up with a lot of recipes that were meatless and eggless.
Also, those kind of recipes don't have a lot of mystery ingredients and fancy/hard/difficult instructions. Mostly plain and simple.
Peace
Yeah too many of those use dairy and such and also I eat mostly raw foods and all of that stuff has to be cooked, which doesn't sound so bad to me but hey, it's not just up to me.
