The election results bode ill for environmental issues – already we are hearing that there will be a new push to gut the Endangered Species Act, drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and other wilderness areas, and plow new roads into the last remaining roadless areas of our national forests.
Please just quickly sign this online for the Endangered Species Act. They're trying to get 100,000 signatures. Why do you humans feel they have the right to kill off other life forms for our own benefit? Why have we seperated ourselves so far from the natural world?

I have heard that oil production will peak in 2010 and after that, the oil prices will be sky high, higher than we've ever seen them before. When the oil does run out, the last reserves will be in the middle East and the world power will shift there (if countries don't shift to another energy source). That's why bush wants the oil so bad out of the Arctic b/c it's running out. When has the US ever cared about another country's plight unless we benefited in some way? Did the US help the Tutsis when the Hutus murdered nearly 1 million people? No, did the US help Afghanis after the soviets demolished their country? No, although the did train the "freedom fighters", now referred to as terrorists, to fight the soviets. I think one should ask themselves this when we watch Bush make a move, "how does he benefit? How does his actions benefit different US interests?" Although Bush said he acted to defend liberty & freedom by invading Iraq, he was looking out for the narrow interests of the US of A.
