Hi, I am new to the site, and a recent convert to organic gardening. I have a problem with grubs in my lawn. They are the kind that turn into Japanese beetles. My entire lawn (which is pretty large) and my garden are infested with the things. Any suggestions that don't involve chemical cocktails? I want to get rid of them.

You could catch them and relocate them. Or get something that eats them.

When you have friends over to smoke high quality bud, the grub quickly goes away. Some friends may claim to see beetles in your house, that's when you make fun of them for being lightweights.

Beer works for slugs, so maybe grubs like it too??? Put some in a pie plate and the next day there will be lots of big bloated nasy slugs floating around!!!

Thanks for the good advice. I love praying mantises, so that is the one I'm going to try first. The baby ones are so cute, and sometimes they sun themselves on my mailbox. Thanks again.

Moles eat grubs (and aerate your soil). If you don't have enough moles, just dig up the grubs and pitch em to your chickens - they love em!!!!!!
(Or just let a 3 yr old kid play with them until he gets his little fingers pinched by his little grub buddy and throws it down and stomps on it!!!!)

you can get them from Gardens Alive and probably other gardening catalogs/shops. They are an all-natural solution.
