These are growing next to my front door in an east-facing exposure...it's a sort of cool-ish climate (Zone 4 but borderline could be Zone 3.)

It's doing so well I'd like to plant more! It came with the house so it must be a perennial.

Kath

No clue what they are, but I recently dug up and divided a buch of those for my mother.

It's a root propagator (bulbs) so depending on how long they've been growing there, you might already have more than you need.

Hopefully this link gets you a bigger picture. I have no idea why it came out so small in my post...

Close, Kermit, but not quite...the leaves are sort of like grass, really skinny. I posted a larger picture so it should be easier to see, now..

I found something similiar in my North American Wildlife book. Stargrass. There's also a yellow variety.

It's not really a grass, but a member of the lily family.

I could be wrong, but it's the closest I can find.

It looks similar to that yellow stargrass, but I think this isn't a wildflower...somebody obviously planted it here. Plus, I'm not totally sure that stargrass would survive as a perennial this far north..

I couldn't find a picture of the white stuff? I tried googling "white stargrass" but the pictures I'm coming up with looks totally different..

My mom and grandma had these and called them Star of Bethlehem or Star of Jerusalem - I can't ask them which they have both passed on - but maybe that will help. I found some in my yard a couple of weeks ago.
