Pine tree's

I have a question on my pine tree's.
I have a few acres and around my whole property are pine tree's they are just little maybe 2' tall, well I think they are dead :bawl: they are orange and burnt looking, but the little trunks still look ok its weird, should I do something to them like fertilize?? and with what??
I dont want them to die, they were supposed to grow big so Id have a tree fortress around my property!!!

I dont know what kind they are and they were planted last year, maybe they will livin up a bit soon!! :confused:

well any info on pine tree's may save some tree lives!!!

That might be pinewood nematodes. You can probably send a sample to your coop extension to be checked out.

it sounds like they didn't take a liking to the spot where they were planted.
Are there any other older trees around them?...maybe this will shed light on what kinda soil you're dealing with. Any pics?

Sounds like they don't like the soil they're in.Maybe the Ph is off? You might be able to fix 'em up with the proper correction and some appropriate nutrients.

I fried some barberry bushes like that (got em all orange and burnt looking) by over-fertilizing....did you happen to fertilize and is there a chance you used too much?

No I havent done anything to them I moved in this house in december.
They are by the road, like 10' away and in the winter they use cinders and salt on the roads, not much really cause I live on a dirt road with 2 other houses so my road rarely gets maintenence. I am going to try some manure around the base's my dad suggested it, he had cows 10 years ago so behind his barn is really good dirt/poo who knows I just want them to live!!

Oh and I am minus one since last night, got a little crazy with the weed whacker!! :p
