recurring places in dreams?

I just got to thinking today and I realized that I have a recurring "TOWN" in my dreams. It has a seedy area, it's a small old neglected mixed commercial and residential strip between the railroad tracks and the rest of the town; a mall I go to frequently, certain houses I frequent, friends houses...

And I know my way around this town. Everything remains the same. The mall has the same little stores; the food court is down the stairs to the right; there's a department store and a shoe store and a lingerie store and sort of an upperscale store upstairs...

And I always seem to go to the semi-seedy area looking for a friend or looking to buy something or a party or something..and it's always dusk but I am not afraid...

It's interesting. The town never seems to change.

I used to have a recurring dreams about underground tunnels. I loved those dreams, they were such an adventure. However, as I got older they changed. Entrances to tunnels got paved over with roads. Cities got built and closed off all the tunnels, eventually.
