Hi folks
Perhaps some you guys can help me?
I'm a member of a political forum and we happen to be having a discussion at the moment, on the environment
I remember a while back, reading an article that scaled the history of the planet, to a period of one day, or maybe one week
It showed how the human race has only been around for the last 10 minutes or so and outlines the devastation we have caused to the planet, in this very short period of time
Perhaps one of you guys have the document or know where I can get it
Please help
Thanks in advance

...there seem to be many of these analogies for describing the history of the earth and the impacts humans have had. Here is the closest one i found that matches your request:
http://calspace.ucsd.edu/marsnow/library/science/exobiology/life_on_earth1.html
They scale the time to one calander year.
There are some others that do the same...here is an interesting one:
Think of the age of the earth as the length of your arm, origin of the earth at your shoulder and present day at the tip of the fingernail on your middle finger. A single stroke of a nail file can erase human existence.
I hope this helps...

Whooo so that’s why they don't allow any nail files on the plane :p
hehe K thanks m8
It's not the actual article I was looking for
The one I saw, actually describes in a scale of minutes and seconds, the devastation we have caused to the planet
But thanks allot for trying
Nice community you guys have here
Maybe I might spam the place a little if you guys don't mind :)

It's actually the Red Vs Blue forum
http://www.redvsblue.com/
I don't know if anyone has actually seen this
But it's a comedy series made using the halo (one of those violent Pc games) engine
Some really funny stuff
Check out their video section
The politics forum is great, some really intelligent (and obviously some not so intelligent) and heated debate
The site seems to be down at the minute
They've been updating it this past few days
So if you can't access it now try again later
