So we are starting a garden and just thought about how we know the plants and seeds we start with haven't already been genetically modified. Does this happen? Is there somewhere we should've gotten our plants and seeds from? We got ours from the dreaded Hell-Mart cause we didn't know where else to get em.

Anywhere really, they have organic seeds just like everything else just look on the package. And I bet walmarts seeds are anything but organic!

Heirloom seeds are originals and nothing has been changed in them. You can take the seeds from whatever veggie or fruit you get from them and it will produce the same veggie/fruit.

Roma tomatoes are originals. You can plant the seeds from them and you'll get Romas.

I like to save seeds from big store bought tomatoes, then plant them. I get cherry tomatoes (since the big ones are hybrids) but that's fine :)

Well we went to the local co-op to get seeds but we didn't see any????

And one of the main reasons we're planting certain plants is because it is too expensive to buy them.

hmm, I'd just never thought about the fact that they'd tamper with seeds and plants that people are growing themselves and if there was a such thing as organic planting seeds that they'd be at the co-op, hmm interesting.
