Question about Bonnaroo

I heard from some one that MTV bought out (if that's the right term) the Bonnaroo music festival. I was wondering if anyone else has heard this or if it's just a bunch of malarky. Let me know what you hear

That is malarky ;) Those rumors are always swirling around but they are not true. Either MTV is going to be there or Clear Channel bought bonnaroo. They are both false.

Tommorow is the big day!!! THe initial band announcement for the Roo. I doubt the rumors about MTV are true. THe Dead and Widespread are almost a lock to headline. THe third headliner could be almost anyone with the front runners being Trey Amastasio, Dave Mathews and the newly reformed Black Crows(My personal favorite). Dark Horses for the third spot include up and comers like Ben Harper and Robert Randolph. As for the rest of the festival look for hippy favorites like Moe., Umphreys Mcgee, String Cheese Incident, Galactic, Keller Williams, Jazz Mandolin Project, Les Clalypool. Buckethead and Particle. Bluegrass favs like Yonder Mountain String Band, Bela Fleck and Del MCoury should make the bill. Theres always a few suprises too!! Id love to see WIlco, Flaming Lips and My morning Jacket make the bill again.

I want to go bad but, none of my friends can go and I dont want to drive from pa to tennesee alone. anyone from up this way going??

No Moe either :( I bet they will both be there hopefully in the next line-up additions. They still have around 25 more acts to announce so all hope is not lost that the Dead will be there. If not I have my fingers crossed for Phil & Friends!!

I am most likely going this year(my boyfriend and our group are supposedly kidnapping me to go). But the only qualm I have is the scene there. For anyone that lives in Ohio, there is this fest called Hookahville. It used to be a great place to go listen to music and camp. But then all the druggies who weren't there for the music would go to buy their drugs for cheap and turn around and sell them for an insane amount of money. The last time I went I didn't get any good vibes from it, and I haven't gone to one in a few years b/c of it. They seem to have a good lineup this year, and it is the first year I won't be in college. But if anyone can give me an unbiased opinion on the scene at Bonnaroo, I would appreciate it.

There will always be "druggies" around the music... Especially at Dead shows, as they were once the sole runners of the Rainbow Road - if it wasn't for dead shows, LSD wouldn't have gotten around at all! You will know family because they will dose everyone for free, spreading the love. Don't hate the drugs that have always been there, they are part of it. Hate the opportunists that choose to make a profit from it.

I haven't gone since i live in mansfield like 3 years ago....
I had a blast then....
At that time, there was a balance.....
The drugs were there and around, and being consumed :o
but the same people doing them were there to enjoy the tunes.....
But ever since then, it just hasn't worked out to go again....
and i have been to some recent hookah shows and sadly the crowd has changed a bit.....
But i don't let it get to me.... I STILL DANCE

Yah I know I am going to see them in Feb. too whoo hoo. Moe. is just the perfect late night band. I fell in love with Moe. that first year of Bonnaroo where they had that late night spot. The last two years they got a cruddy time slot. I want to dance to Moe. till 6 am this year!!!!!

And as far as the scene goes it can get sketchy out in the campground but inside centeroo the people are there for the music. As long as you don't hang out on your local shakedown you won't have to put up with any b.s.

I am going too!! I found like 10 people one them has a camper so we are all piling in and taking off , but I live in pa, so I dont know how that could work but maybe Id see ya there the odds are slim but it be funny!!
