Here ya go; this was my lunch today and I must say it was very tasty. Probably not the best thing for those on a diet or suffering from high blood pressure, but hey...

Fresh, thick sliced french bread
a little butter
some good mayo, preferably home made
fresh ground pepper
lettuce
crisp pepper bacon
organic german mustard
fresh grated parmesan oregiano cheese

Sort of, but I think tomato wouldn't jive too well on there. As it is it has a nice bread'n'meat feel to it; tomato might take something away from that. I might even hesitate on the lettuce unless it's really good, fresh stuff. I really like the combination of a nice zesty mustard with bacon, and then you add spicy pepper and rich, funky parmesan and the package is really like a kalidescope of old school flavor.

I'm curious about the mayo...do you make your own? I'd love the recipe... :)

I've made a number of different mayos, but I admit to usually getting store bought stuff because making the stuff is a bit of a pain, and it doesn't keep very long. Check google though; there are tons of different kinds you can make.

ewww. Mayonnaise is primarily made from little more than egg, oil, and vinegar. Just between the choices in those three ingredients you have a lot of options, and then you can always add other stuff for variety in flavor and texture. Herbs are good, garlic is almost a must, powdered mustard adds flavor and helps with the emulsion that makes nice smooth mayo, fresh ground pepper makes a spicy mayo... get it? :D
