hey , i just wanted to point out somethin ,
u no those plastic bags we get in supermarkets !?
over here , im not sure if they did it over in america and such other places , but over here in ireland , they did a thing , were they stopped the usage of plastic bags , or well tryed to reduce it .
so anyways they put a price for plastic bags (15c per bag) .
but it hasn helped , supermarkets r still usin loadsssssssssss of plastic cartons , rubbish bags , can holder thingys etc...
they really shud stop usin plastics , do they not no wat its doin to the earth! , like dolphins nd fish nd stuff get killed everyday becos of the waste!
animals r dying becos of it!

i asked my mum to try and cut down on plastics , nd she uses cardbord boxes wen she does the shopping!
im very .. proud lol .. of her .

but hey , thats life there's some ppl who r just so caught up in the world of plastic waste nd toxic waste that they dont care about there planet!

anyways
peace! \m/

ok... Not quite sure what I just read, but something about plastic shopping bags? Around here most supermarkets have a bin where you simply deposit your bags to be recycled. Ideal? Probably not, but better than throwing them out. I guess we should all have dedicated hemp shopping bags or something, but we can't all be perfect... ;)

yeah, in Germany, people usually bring cloth bags from home. And you need to buy bags if you want one. i think that's an excellent idea-good for the environment, and financially good for the store...America should really look into even simple changes such as this.
paper and plastic bags can both be recycled, but why use them if their need can be eliminated by cloth bags?

I think the cloth bag idea,(like a book tote) is excellent. They have plastic where I'm at, the crummy ones, I'm sure they decompose. Sometimes before you leave the store if you put too much in em'.

I have like 8 canvas and hemp bags that I take to the store. They are great to have if you have to walk long distances. And they hold a lot of food too! :D

Lol. I think they make them thinner than they used to. I don't remember them tearing so easily.

Well, I get the jist of what you were saying. But it was painful. Anyway, I think it is a good idea to charge for the bags. At least it is some type of effort. All those plastic bags I get from WalMart, I use as small trash can liners in the bathroom. So, I am not doing so well with the recycle thing. We do take our empty beer bottles to get recylced. I really need to get some nifty bags to use at the store from now on.
