Hello!

Thank you! My father's birthday is August 24th, Lila's is August 25th and mine is the 28th.

Hooray for 29! I welcome it.

For some reason I feel older than 29.

Much older.

But not tired.

Sleep deprived, but not tired at all.

Every year that tics and tocs on, I feel a little bit happier to see my birthday come. I really enjoy aging, I think.

My husband gave me a card today and wrote a message in it about how much he loves me and how incredible it is that we have this new baby. On the outside, it said something to the effect of my having a lovely body and face and on and on...

And I thought 'what a strange thing to give to someone who has just had a baby...' because my face is blotchy and dry and pimply from hormones and my body is cut and stitched and with 10-20 (I haven't been weighed yet, so I'm not certain what I've lost from labor) extra pounds that weren't present 9 months ago.

and he's not a cheesey, insincere sorta guy, so I know he means it and I feel so nice from his gesture.
