I know itīs hard when uīr young an needs sleep the more u think about it the harder it becomes.
Sorry! Ainīgot a solution.
There are alot of older people with the same problem I think some people have it their whole life.

One thing works for me. Hot milk.
I heat it up to lightly steaming, then drink it.
Shortly after that I get a drowsiness. If I go to bed right then I'll go to sleep. If I stay up the drowsiness will wear off and I'll still be awake.
That drowsiness only lasts a few minutes for me, so it's one of those "window of opportunity" things.

Could you be hungry? A snack before bed can make a difference in how easily you go to sleep. Something that is not sugary, tho.

I've struggled with this same thing for my entire life! For me, the problem isn't physical, but is instead mental. The moment my head hits the pillow my mind begins to race.

The only solution I've been able to find is to use white noise (like a fan) constantly and to come up with elaborate, controlled fantasies. Oddly, generally if I imagine I'm in an igloo in an abandoned place with no signs of life... I fall to sleep pretty easily. Weird... yes. But whatever works, right? :)

I've had a problem sleeping most of my life too. I don't know what the problem is, I've tried lots of different relaxing techniques, like counting, imaging a relaxing place, etc. The scary thing is when sleeping aids like trizadone don't work b/c then I tripped when I just wanted to sleep.

I have a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep. I wake up at least once every night for at least half an hour before I fall back to sleep.

I'm thinking about trying the herbal sleep aids. Anyone try them before? what did you think about them?

Thanks
Peace & Love
Kim

Camomile tea worked for me once in a while. It just tasted so awful :(

I remembered something-
When I was in school, many years ago, I had trouble getting to sleep and I now think it had a lot to do with the inactivity of school. Too much sitting. No wonder I hated school.

This worked a lot back in my school days. I would lie in bed and picture that I was a rag doll filled with sawdust. A small hole would appear in my back and the sawdust would start slowly leaking out. As the sawdust leaked out I would let my muscles relax. It was very peaceful :) The trick was to not let my mind wander away from being a rag doll. If my mind wandered I'd have to start over. I can remember about half the sawdust leaking out and then that was all. Next thing I knew, the alarm clock was waking me up.

Worked for me :)

There are many ways of doing this sort of mental relaxing some works for many people but not for all.
Many of them is innervisual ones others to chatch a feeling other systematic.
Sometimes they include many senses.
There are visualprayers that some do before they go to sleep that helps them.

But in all of these cases of having trouble sleeping there is other problems,an the trouble of not getting any sleep comes from them.

you can try lavender underneath your pillow
insomnia..it sounds like it :/
don't drink coffee or soda or stuff anything before you go to bed..also for Pedata-have you tried meditating becuase i think that may help you work through the stuff that races in your mind in bed. work it out before your body's selftime.
good luck!

Melatonin.

This is over the counter, you can get it by the vitamins and stuff, where they have like the natural health stuff.

Melatonin is the chemical your brain puts out to tell your body it's time to go to sleep.

I swear by this stuff and I would NEVER sleep if not for this!

Take one about an hour before you have to go to bed.

Marijuana with lots of CBD and CBN (two sleepy-time cannabinoids) :D

... but that's just me ;).

Also, as long as you're regular about the four or five AM thing, you're not an insomniac, you're just a vampire, like me. Though I've not been so in the past few days... Been sleeping with someone else ^_^

Generally, though, I like to fall asleep no earlier than 3:00 AM. I try to avoid the evil day star as much as possible.

i have insomnia too, but the things that work for me are:

read an incredibly boring book. you'd be nodding off in no time. the book i read is one of my brother's accounting books. it works wonders. when he reads my medical books he also sleeps a whole lot better he says. :D

work hard all day, or do something that would tire you out completely...

The effect children have on me is that they reduce me to a small ball of crying putty. Na I cried because I lived after handling so may children :D

"I am aliiiiive!!" raises hands up in the air and jumps up and down "Alleluiaaaa!" and then I cried. Lol.

Lol. Maybe I am thinking like this because of the broccoli and mushrooms I ate. I don't even know why I think this is funny. Lol.

exercise is good, especially right before bed. It's nice and cool outside, you can work off that big ass dinner, and you'll fall right to sleep. I find too that, believe it or not, hygene (sp?) plays a big role, too. If I take a nice cool shower and then jump into a freshly made bed with nice clean sheets and a toasty wool blanket, I'm asleep in seconds. When I'm being lazy and don't bother to make up the bed and just climb in, I have trouble falling asleep a lot of times. I imagine a psyciatrist would say that's a mental thing from my childhood; when I would go to bed and everyone was happy, a parent would make sure the bed was made up all perfectly; if I was in trouble, I more than likely had been sent to my room in the evening and would put myself to bed, so thing weren't straight and I was, of course, unhappy.

i'm sorry you're having trouble with your sleeping....... may i suggest that you are trying to be called to by a higher power?... perhaps the father is trying to tell you something.... other than that i dont know maybe a turkey leg or something.. but seriously about that first thing...... just get rid of all distractions and close your eyes... listen to hear,, look to see..... you may be dealing with something that has come into your life or you may be thinking about something toomuch..... glad to help though.
bye bye.. peace and God bless

" you know i love you..... let me stay with you every day.." ugh i fell asleep monday watching that..... i'm not knocking the movie, just that particularscene
