i only read part of the "do-it-yourself hurricane releif" article, but i liked it. how reliable is the site?

lishca - In truth, I read hard copy, contains vast amounts of same, claims to have existed since 1865. Latest lands hard on dElay - Putting the 'con' in conservative. Simply looks like more of the same to me(personaly I hate oilmen and politicians). politicians will f**k you to get a-head, but an oilman will just for the fun of it. But the use of Pat Tillman by the admin. makes me feel physically ill!! If its true - propaganda has been around for a long time, and both sides are so very good at it!!
Quess that's why I'm here, getting a feel for my newly adopted family. I get to hear what you say, but I can't really see your eyes? I just assume Normal Distribution curve.

But for you; a great day today and a better one tommorrow!!

all right, after much more perusing of the site, i still find it interesting, a nice addition to all the other places i pick up tidbits. but i am glad you made the point about propaganda on both sides. it is a well polished art, has been for a looooooooong time. (read the federalist papers sometime, though i love them, they were part of the propaganda of the time, and far better written propaganda than the tripe they try to feed us these days)

the truth always lies somewhere in the middle, usually hidden under a big pile of sh*t. i, for one, am part of what my husband likes to refer to as "the radical middle". i don't fit on either side, and therefore get screamed at by both anytime i open my mouth much. and i have to agree with your assessment of the Tillman situation, it sickens me too. i detest this administration, pretty much from top to bottom. but they aren't the only problem, most of the problem i see comes from too many people up on the Hill that have no real connection with what the rest of us have as day to day reality. none of them has ever had to go without food to make sure their kids eat; none of them has probably ever held a minimum wage job and had to watch their money get eaten by ss, medicare, fica, and other taxes; none of them drives a broken down, hand me down vehicle that was on its last leg 5 yrs ago, and is still being patched together because it's all they've got...and on and on and on. we all know they are full of themselves and their own importance and thier money and their law degrees, etc.

oh Lord, i'm on my soapbox again. i'll quit. but yeah, i think it is a nice addition to my info seeking. thanks for sharing!

tlr,
' very interesting ' as Artie Johnson used to say.
i've perused some of the articles and skimmed through some of the authors.
although the site leans toward the 'left', the content is intelligent and informative.
scale of ten, it's a definite eight going toward nine. :D thank you.

okie,
you should move your 'soapbox' to D.C.!!
you not only hit the nail on the head, you punched it right through and into the far wall!!

my experience in journalism has taught me that the truth is in what is not said in the article.

none of them drives a broken down, hand me down vehicle that was on its last leg 5 yrs ago, and is still being patched together because it's all they've got i know that feeling. and i know the absolute feeling of despair when something finally breaks and it would be cheaper to buy a new vehicle than to fix it. (had the rear-end go out on a 91 dodge dakota and it was going to cost about $4k to fix, if we did all the work ourselves)

okie -- I also think you look far better on your soapbox, than the numbheads in DC look, while hiding behind their podium.

uncle - need a 10 spot, by your opinion, please. -the tlr may get me reconized, Acually made one of Nixon's bad boy lists, in college- no one told me not to take briefcase to presidential address(while wearing protest garb).

lishca - you and mate most be really great looking - 4k(thousand?) for old dodge pickup rear end - someone really wanted you, and not for your benefit

Yeah, it sucks. I work an almost minimum wage job (that's pretty much all you can get at 17!) and I make about $130/week. Well, $40 of that per week is taken by taxes. I need that money to pay my bills, man! IMO, the taxes should be laid on the wealthy because they can afford to live without their $40,000 cars. I can't afford to live without a roof.

aawww, you guys made me blush and grin all at the same time. :D trust me, i can go on and on for hours about political stuff. it's a slight passion of mine and my hubby's, though we usually only end up talking to one another about it most of the time. but since he is working so much right now, i end up spouting it all over the internet! they've probably put me on a list somewhere by now....
