HAHAHAHAHAHAHA :D holy shit. I think its bull shit how people are getting so worked up about not being christian. I think if the current pres is christian than they should put up all the christmas shit they want. If they are black and celebrate Kwanzaa (which I disagree with for non racist or religious reasons) then they can put aup a Kenora and if I wee pres youd better believe I would be lighting thse fuckin Chanuka candles on that lawn. Politically correct people can suck my ass. :p I think if you think something think it dont push it on others and dont let others push their beliefs on you and while im on the subject fuck Happy Holidays, In the words of the great and noble Dennis Leary "Merry Fuckin Christmas" happy Kwanzaa Happy Chanuka nad have a happy fucking new year. And its not even non christians that are causing all this its those whiney christians that are saying a public display of christmas is offensive to other. Fuck them. Christmas was and curantly is my favorite holiday so they should shut the fuck up because Im jewish and I do have a Merry Fucking Christmas with all my christian friends. Sorry for the insane rant.

This crap with "Happy Holidays" instead of Merry Christmas makes me laugh.
We're so worried about being politically correct we can't even enjoy the festive season anymore, whether it's christmas, hannukah or kwanza or wtf else people celebrate. Honestly, it's just a greeting, I don't think it merits all this crap about what to call it... our political correctness is what's dragging us behind! Do you think the Chinese care? No way!
Also, these people getting upset about Nativity scenes? HELLO, it's CHRISTMAS! In case you didn't realize, Christmas is about celebrating the miraculous birth of Jesus Christ... funny how so many people have forgotten that in the midst of all the greedy gift receiving.

Hope I dont' stir up a hornet's nest here....but I prefer "happy holidays" to "merry christmas". Not because I'm anti-christian or anything...but to me, in my own way of thinking..."HOLIDAYS" means the whole season. The entire time between Thanksgiving and New Years. While "CHRISTMAS" is just one day, to me. So for me, "HAPPY HOLIDAYS" means much more joy, spread out over longer time! So I like it better. But maybe I interpret it differently!!

Happy Holidays to all of you! (In other words, enjoy the WHOLE season, not just one day, Christmas day).

Love ya all,
Kath

this is a cliffs notes of a few examples of what's next, as discussed on the morning show of the local radio station.

well, the athiests did it to christmas (which, for what it's worth, traces back to a christian event)

I bet the Neo-nazi's can't wait for a politically correct Hanukkah.

or a politically correct Kwanzaa with the white robed grand high dragons of the kkk, celebrating with the black panthers.

It's just better to leave some things alone

I never thought about it that way, and you know, it makes sense; I agree with you on that plane. But I think a lot of people say happy holidays to avoid offending people... people can take it to mean Hannukah, Christmas, or Kwanzaa, or just a lame attempt to bring you back to their store.

I agree treehugger happy holidays is more open and (all though it may not seem so) i enjoy it the only problem i have with it is whiney people saying its offensive and trying to force people to use the term. Its just a violation of the first ammendment and a persons right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness in general. And Forest that pagen claus link was excelent.
