bees

i'm back in IL staying at ,my grandparents and my grandfather is wanting to get anohter hives put in his orchard. the one he had a few years back was removed by the beekeeper, without warning or reason, so he's wanting to get his own. what i was wondering is if anyone has heard of the government (federal or state) giving grants, or loans, to help out. i've been told they have, but i cannot find anything online about it. any info would be appreciated.

I don't know about any grants or anything, but my grandfather kept bees for a few years, in order to boost his rose gardens since we're suffering from a serious shortage of bees. It seemed like a really cool hobby, but it did take quite a bit of learning, time, and financial investment. It's not really something to do just for the personal gain, you really need to either love bees or be seriously concerned about the overall environmental impact of the declining bee populations.
