Earth day!!!!

Hey Earth day is comin up again (not like everyday is earth day for me) anyway this year i am the president of the environmental club at my high school and we are having a 5k race to benifit a local enviro org. ;) also the next day is nationals for me, (gymnastics) yay.

I love earth day. I love what it's about, and I love the fact that there's always something cool to celebrate it. Last year there was this outdoor concert that lasted almost all day with various local/semi-local bands. It was so nice... Maybe there will be something like that again this year :)

I loovveee Earth Day. I always walk around going "Do you know what today is?" and people tell me what day of the week or what date it is, and then I go "No, it's Earth Day!" and jump up and down and clap like a 4 year old...
Most of them just think I'm a total weirdo, but at least they can't say they didn't know.

I hang posters at work, we have big windows! I donated a blue spruce for my sons preschool to plant too. Every day IS earthday, Just some people need reminding!!

No doubt, haha...
I don't pay THAT much attention to 4-20, at least, I never used to. But then, I was a total loner-stoner for the longest time. Kinda funny, I ALWAYS had lots of weed, but everybody's just too cool to hang out with the crazy hippie, so I'd be totally willing to get people stoned for free, but I'd just end up smoking myself to sleep, hahah. I was a hermit for a long time, though. Last year, I wore my Bob Marley shirt and all day, everyone was like "Nice shirt!" and I didn't even remember, and then at the end of the day, someone was like "Nice shirt, happy 420!" and I was just like "Uhhhh, oh yeah. I thought it was just laundry day..." hahah. I knew there was a reason Bob was smiling at me from the empty corner of my closet!
But now, everybody - EVERYBODY has asked if I work on 420 (I don't, woohoo!!) and then said they were coming over to keep me stoned all day. I figure it's mostly because they need a place to skip school (yeah, I'm only 18, so a lot of my friends are 16-18, and then there's my brother in law and his friends) but whatever, at least they'll keep me stoned! Haha. I'll have teenagers in-and-out of my house all day long... better do housework super-early, 'cause I know I won't get anything but cooking done all day, hahah.

I'm just waiting for my damn gardens. You need permits to burn stuff here, and it's constantly too rainy now, or we work on the GOOD days... and that just sucks. I've resorted to starting corn and tomatoes *inside* the house... the fiance keeps calling me a stupid hippie. Wait 'til he wakes up to me screaming "HAPPY EARTH DAY!!!" right in his face at some ridiculous morning hour. :p

i just returned from the race and well... it didnt quite happen too well. it is about 35 degrees and raining and windy. i know the rain is good for the earth but not for the race. we only had about 10 people come. i am sad. o well, i cant do anything about it now.

the t shirts for the race are made of recycled cotton. i think we will sell them at my school. they say earth day with a big earth on it too. so maby people will enjoy them.
