Anyone had there Tonsils out?

I've had my tonsils out. It was done when I was 16. I had a deviated septum that needed straightening out and the ear, nose, throat doctor decided that I needed both my tonsils or adnoids out as well.

Why do you HAVE to do it? Are you having problems with inflamation?

Yes, I get strep or tonsilitis anywhere from 3-5 times a year, and I am so sick of it. But I just met with my holistic health practitioner and she has got me on some potent stuff for 4 weeks so maybe I wont have too but I dont think it will work. Ive already tried everything it seems.

So I guess I dont have to I just figured it was time to give in and do it. After all I have read, it seems to be the only option for chronic strep, in the world of phd's anyway. And I am done with antibiotics. Done.

Its funny and it has been a joke of my family for ever but every time I eat icecream it makes me cough. it does something to my throat and it almost tickles. then I cough then my sister would beat me up cause she thought I was faking,lol

but really ice cream makes me cough! LOL
