Man, when the title of this article appeared as it was loading FOX COATS, I was hoping to see Bill O'Riley or Shawn Hanity skinned and turned into Aussie dusters. :D

Hey admin? You may want to fix this:

"If you think this practice is necessary, wasteful, and murderous, please voice your concerns by contacting HSN directly to let them know. Or, call to complain at 1- 800-284-3900."

Shouldn't that say unnecessary? Also, I'm not against fur as long as the species being used is not endangered or anything like that. Im not against it for the same reason Im not a vegetarian, its natural and has been happening for thousands of years. However, I do think there should be more regulation to make sure these animals are killed in a humane manner. A lot of those farrms do horrible things, like skinning animals alive n stuff. Now that is wrong.

Kookie...good catch on the typo, thanks!

These foxes and other animals are skinned alive in China.
Not only is that cruel, but there are other environmental problems related to this as mentioned in the article.

Also - does that fur really serve a purpose on that jacket? It looks like a fox was put in a blender, and the blender threw up. I doubt that smattering of chopped up fur is keeping the wearer warm.

You guys are right those are ugly coats. I would like to see a boycott of China altogether. Someday they will destroy this country and we are funding it.

Those are without a doubt the ugliest coats I have ever seen. They look mangy. However, I was wondering if anyone knows where the rumors of animals being skinned alive came from. It seems to me that it would be nearly impossible and definately inefficient to skin an animal alive. If anything they would have to be knocked out in which case they wouldn't feel anything and would die before they woke up.It just seems impossible to me. I am in no way defending the practice though I agree with Kookie on the use of fur.

Maybe they're killing them with lead paint.

Woodnymph,

You can google: animals skinned alive and you'll find a ton of video footage and reports from organizations that have gone undercover there.

Here is one. Don't eat anything before you check this out.

Ok .Good info.Even more reason to boycot anything made in China.Anybody that could do that to any living thing is sick.I urge everyone to pay attention to made in labels and if you see China think about not just this but a lot of other stuff like our children and our environment before you buy it.

I couldnt watch it, I saw them hit that raccoon with a bat and I was done.

I get that people think its natural to eat meat, wear fur etc.... BUT its 2007 and there are way more choices, all of which actually keep us warmer and healthier. Long long time ago, they had no choice, but to wear fur. That rationality is old school, way old school.

Peta may be a little overboard sometimes, but they get there point across, loud and clear. Which gets results, companies take action.

Did you watch the video on the humane societies website about the dog meat market, so sick.

Yes..the videos are harsh, and really sick.

I think the bottom line (for me) is that there is huge difference between the guy who goes out hunting once a year, shoots a deer, eats it, uses the hide, mounts the head as a trophy...whatever. lol Not a fan of that, BUT I see a huge difference in that, versus the company that just exploits animals all day, in a cruel horrible manner, for really frivolous, stupid, unusable junk.

Real fur stuffed cats as 'decor' , ugly jackets that look like Michael Jackson design-throwbacks... stuff that will inevitably make it's way to the trashcan within a year or two.

Like this...whoopee..a realistic looking, real fur stuffed cat. Get a real cat if you want a realistic cat!!

I agree. Hunting as a "sport" is not something I am keen on, but I know lots of people around here that hunt to feed there families. They respect the animal they are eating. And venison is a great meat, healthy, lean and untouched by corporate america.

Those cats are ridiculous, wow. People actually buy those, crazy.

Ok the videos are undeniable. I could only watch about a quarter of the first one. I just don't understand why people choose to be cruel when it's more effecient to be humane. A quick shot to the head would mean they wouldn't have to fight the animals. Anyway, I guess that's just another good reason not to wear fur. I mean other than the fact that it's ugly. :D It's also a good reason to buy locally but I think someone already made that point.
