Mitt Romney was asked by a man who suffers from muscular dystrophy whether or not the presidential aspirant would arrest those who use medical marijuana to manage pain. Watch his response.

OMGWhat a heartless phoney bastard!! My older brother who was a beautiful man, died of cancer. The only thing that gave him comfort was Marijuanna. I watched him die. Unless you've seen what I have I don't think you deserve an ill opinion.

How can we deny people natural pain relievers?

I worked as a caregiver for about 5 years, I had 2 clients in that time, both with rare cases of muscular dystrophy. My first client smoked until the day he died, and it was one of the few things that relieved his spasms, nasuea, improved his appetite, helped with his migraines and various other pains. My 2nd client smoked when she was younger for all the same reasons, she has only stopped now as she gets towards (I am very sad to say this) the end of her life. She stopped because she is having anxiety/paranoia issues and smoking is apparently not helping.

Having seen it work I am all for medical marijuana, Mitt Romney makes me sick the patronizing asshole.

I agree kookie. The polititians are bought by the pharmaceutical moguls so why would you allow something to be accessible if you could grow it yourself free.

I wouldn't expect anything more form Romney, who is kind of like evil incarnate. By far the worst candidate in the election (and there are some pretty terrible ones). And yet a significant number of people support him! Makes me question my estimation in humanity.

Upon those who criminalize medically useful things, I wish a month of my life. I have rheumatoid arthritis, one (possibly two) ruptured discs, and crippling migraines. I say that realizing that many, many people have it worse - but I don't think the politicians would survive that long enough to report on it.

Don't get me wrong - my wish is not for revenge. I just wish them to experience that level of constant pain without recourse to the simple, relatively cheap medicines that will at least take the edge off it. I wish it so they will gain perspective, and maybe along the way, compassion. There is absolutely no need for the chronically ill to suffer pain that can be eased, just because the government is stuck on stupid.

Would pot help? I don't know, I'm not allowed to try it. Lortab/Vicodin does, but I might get "hooked". Nevermind that I'm "hooked" on DMARD medicines for the rheumatism, and other drugs for essential hypertension, and some kind of anti-inflammatory if I want to stay out of a wheelchair (usually the most expensive one, right now it's Celebrex) - that's an acceptable kind of hooked to the pols, rather than the bad kind of hooked of not hurting. Yeah, that last sentence made my mind hurt, too. Maybe they'll allow me a Tylenol ... it's one of the most potentially dangerous drugs out there and they stick it in everything - but, it isn't yet proscribed by the War on Drugs.

I think we need a War on Wars. We could have a War on Stupid, but who'd run the country if we won?
