Hey anyone, I am interested in music file sharing. Like Napster in the old days. I looked at New Napster site they want 10.00 a month and x amount per song!?!? I looked at Lime wire and Morpheus and am kinda put off by the warnings of I.D. theft and the like. Can anyone give me the skinny? Unckle?

I dont use any of those, I love the live music archives http://www.archive.org/details/etree

its free and fun, tons of shows, tons of bands!! You can stream the music and just listen to it on your media player or convert it to mp3's and burn it to cd's.

Or I buy my music on Itunes. Other then that I am no help on the subject :)

You could try file sharing via Bit Torrent... I use a client call Azureus... but there are many... If you need some assistance let me know...

I haven't done file sharing since napster was free. Sorry I have no input.

I am looking into starting a radio station on live365.com though.

I am looking into starting a radio station on live365.com though.

I was introduced to live365.com Saturday night. I think it is free, but then you listen to ads, but if you pay like $7 a month then there are no ads. I friend listens to it at work and said the ads got on her nerves and it is worth the $7.

really? the ads are like 2 ads per 3 songs or so. If you are listening to jam bands then the ads a further in between.

my favorite stations are:

Hypoxia Radio
The Kingdom of Swing
Surf Psycho Radio
Vegas Vics Tiki Lounge
KRAK
Turn Me On, Dead Man
SurfMusic.com
SPACE LOUNGE
Consolidated Fuzz
Scotia Surfer
Texas 60s Music Refuge
Texas 60s Refuge II

I've never listened to it...but I will now! I just don't like the idea of paying for the radio. Seems wrong...

i'm w/ libra on the archive.org. all bands have consented to the sharing of their music. and they have a special section w/ everything grateful dead. i used to use azureus a lot more than i do now, but it also is kind of amazing. you can get some crazy stuff and just browse through everything that is on there. beware, your day may be eaten away if you let it. you just need the program azureus and then can torrent whatever. videos, music (!) whatever. limewire is just kind of...eh. it was cool for awhile until these others came to light. i just think that w/ limewire it takes a lot more work that what you get out of it. but maybe it's the best way for some... :)
