Well the mini-fest had a big turn out and a huge positive response from the community!

Next year's JamFest will be the weekend of June 20-22 2008.

Mark your calendars, band list will be coming soon.
If you are in a jam band and would like to play you can contact us through our myspace page:

www.myspace.com/crosbytonjamfest

We had Find the Middle Ground & Green Mountain Grass play along with locals.

from our myspacepage:

Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the JamFest has been put on hiatus.

This is indefinite.

This doesn't mean there will never be another JamFest, just not one anytime soon. Sue (who poured her heart and soul into this community was handling the booking and vendor info), has pulled up stakes, sold the Smith House and is no longer in the area. No one has been left in charge of the original Jamfest committee. This is very sad for us and sad for all of our friends. We wish the best of luck to Sue in her endeavors and hope that if the JamFest happens in the future, we’ll get to see her lovely face again.

To my knowledge, the city has appointed someone in charge of their own music festival. I’m sure it will be directed towards an older crowd and probably won’t contain many bands that will bring many people out. We urge all of you past and future performers, if you want to Jam in Crosbyton again to contact the chamber of commerce and request any info on musical festivals. With the city’s bigger budget, we can assure that they will have better compensation. We also hope that we can schedule any future JamFests in the cooler months, so that the W. TX heat doesn’t get to anyone. The remaining committee members have decided to keep this MySpace page active, not just as promotion, but as a reminder of a small accomplishment that a handful of different thinking folks in West Texas did.

Again, we thank all the performers, patrons, vendors, and the committee on helping try to put Crosbyton on the map. It may have only lasted a few years, but it was fun and that was the point. We hope to see you all come and play in Crosbyton or the Lubbock area. We love all of you new-grass, blue-grass, and jam bands. You are the music of small town America and the real voice of the young (and young at heart) generation.

Thank you all.
