I'm confused on this one. I know the issue is that the dots made the kids sick because of some toxin but, as a mother of a 1 yr old and a 3 yr old, it seems logical not to allow a child who would put small objects in there mouth to play with small pieces unsupervised.

I think the issue is the Aquadot beads have a toxic property on their own when ingested. Once metabolized, there's a second dose of GHB that can cause dizziness, seizures and coma.

My daughter is 5 and still puts stuff in her mouth. Usually just goofing around, and not even thinking about it. I have seen kids...8, 9, 10..do the same thing. Kids are just kids.

I can see this could happen to 'age appropriate' kids. They just simply put stuff in their mouth. Hell, I still put a pen in my mouth.

Anything that breaks down chemically and puts a kid into a coma is some scary ****.

If I catch my daughter putting anything in her mouth, I yell, "That's made in China!!", and no kidding..she goes " OH NO, POISON", and puts it down. haha..a new generational thing?

Isn't it time to stop importing this crap into our country?U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other lawmakers have called for the resignation of the chief U.S. product safety regulator, while members of the European Parliament have called for a ban on Chinese-made toys until the situation improves.This is typical of how our do nothing congress works.Lets form a comittee and study what went wrong and fire a couple of people and spend a couple million trying to figure out what went wrong.Sounds like the European Parliament figured out what to do allready.This really pi$$es me off.The ones getting hurt here are children who can't protect themselves from this.I say it's time to do something now not after it kills someone.Call or write your senator and representative and insist that they do the right thing and stop this crap from coming into our country until China can produce safe products.

logical...right. You see your three year old 24/7 no interuptions at all ever for one split second??? To me this is the most irratating statement ever, yes parents should be completely aware of there children and what they are doing, and yes they shouldnt be allowed to be near or to play with little objects such as aquadots. BUT the fact that a toy that kids are supposed to play with, to make crafts with, to be hands on with is in fact poisen, that sould be the key factor. I mean no offense, it just annoys the shit outta me.
