Isn't it just "Feist?" Anyways, I love her. Broken Social Scene is one of the best bands out there right now, but her solo material is quite impressive as well. And she's downright adorable. I've developed this inexplicable fascination with her. Watching her in the video for Mushaboom makes me want to hold her and fall asleep with my arms around her.

I listen to almost everything, as long as there's some spirit in it, if that makes any sense..
but! here are my routine sounds as of late:

The Pogues
Bob Dylan (and lots of him)
The White Stripes
Toots & The Maytals
Jack Johnson
The Doors
Country Joe & The Fish
The Thrills
The Who
Iggy & The Stooges
random CD's of Irish and Celtic music

But anyway, less obscure music lately, more on the classic end. :heff2:

BSS is an indie band, a fantastic one at that. Leslie Feist lended her vocals to a number of their tracks, but isn't their primary vocalist. They're still very much worth checking out, You Forgot It In People is one of the best albums of the last ten years. Not like Feist solo, less poppy and more experimental (more "indie," I suppose). Fairly trippy, actually. Highly recommended!

I gotta go back all the way the beginning of this thread and give a big 'hell yeah' for the Avett Brothers. They are awesome.

If you like super fast bluegrass, try The Dewayn Brothers (http://www.myspace.com/thedewaynbrothers) from Emporia. They tour nationally so you may be able to catch them live!

I also like Jon Felton's Soulmobile (http://www.myspace.com/soulmobile )

Tonight, I'm driving to OKC to see my friends
Tall Cotton String Band (http://www.myspace.com/tallcottonstringband) and Elephant Revival Concept! (http://www.myspace.com/elephantrevival)

These are just the few on the top of my head today!

their full cd (it's all live) is totally worth having...

I'm sorta bummed that Bonnie (their percussionist) won't be there tonight. She's played with Little Feat, Leftover Salmon and I don't know who else... truly an amazing musician and beautiful person inside and out... Bridget Law is also amazing, she's played with Bob Dylan Band and a few other biggies.

Heart, Eagles, UFO. My son, nine years old, walks through the house singing Mississippi Queen. Thank You Guitar Hero III!!! Heart has been on my mind alot lately. What an awsome band. They kinda enbodied my generation in my perspective. I especially dig the songs that started out accoustic and then proceeded to freekin rock yer socks off. Also as a 17 year old (1977) with a perpetual bonner , they were so hot and all Ren-fair lookin' (Little Queen).......... I need a moment alone..... ;)
