Ive heard this, also when microwaved or reused over n over it leaches more of the chemical into the contents. Ive pretty much switched to just glass, for kris's cups and strorage also.
Everything is tainted

Most of us have been using some form of plastics since we were born. I'm wondering if the contaminants are already swimming in our bodies. I don't worry about it too much but if you think about everything we absorb everyday it's all too scary. :flutter

This subject has been on my mind lately. Anyone know the best way to flush those from your system or is the damage done?

A detox diet. You can get tested to see how much crap is in your body, its scary. They also sell these foot pads that draw out toxins, I want to try them but I havent yet. I detox every couple of months. I like to either do a juice diet or take supplements, and eat nothin but fruits and veggies.

Yeah I detox every 4 months or so. I didn't know if that helped withthe stuff that might be with me in the long run. Yogi detox teas work pretty good.... but anyone have any good detox regiments to follow that isn't harsh on the system?

Ive been looking at reuseable water bottles. Seems the aluminum ones are a hot ticket. There are some made by a company called Sigg, trendy expensive bullshit. Maybe an Army surplus canteen will surfice.

notice a metallic taste with the aluminum ones, also if dropped on a rock they can tear, rather than dent (which is why i like my nalgenes)
I wonder if my drinking a gallon and a half of water a day makes me less seceptable since the stuff doesnt sit in there very long. I wonder what the tests entail. i mean, were these sitting full of water for weeks or was it less than a day. crikey even my kids know about the 5 second rule, even though all floor food is offered first to dad, then the dog.
I have been hella busy lately with work and sick kids and planning the arctic expedition, ifin one of yous has time maybe someone here do a looking for stainless steel bottles. wont help with all the silica dust, asbestos electrocution and occasional radiation but i suppose every little bit helps.

The Sigg ones say they have some sort of coating applied to the inside for taste. I did also see some stainless one in my quest as well. Do tell about your expedition!?!?? :D

glamorous title
applied to our winter camping trip next month
head to the northern half of the state park at this old fellas cabin and he gives us a ride off into the middle of nowhere, telling us how crazy and stupid we are. last year it was about 15 miles away, this year we are shooting for 20, we snowshoe our way back to his place (and my truck)via the trail system camping along the way. the first couple weeks in february usually net us the best luck for sub-zero temps and deep fluffly snow of a couple feet or more, and thusly better stories
leads me to another thought pertaining to this topic
the water filter screws right on to a nalgene
you can use the hose but it makes it a bit more of a hassle, especially after you get done chopping a hole in the ice. (melting snow takes a ton to get water, not to mention wasting fuel. it's like about a 20:1 ratio depending on the conditions
