I've been reading on this for some time... I dare anyone to buy two so you can go around asking people to look at your TaTas.

Only problems i see if they are brought here is the top speed is only 60mph, no ac (unless you get the deluxe version), no radio (again deluxe or modify it with a satellite radio or iPod), and riding a long distance in these cars might have an adverse effect on how people drive and commute. I commute 40 miles each way a day.

ha ha ha john... you and tatas lol

I would love to get something like that BUT I live on top of a moutain, on a dirt road that is rarely plowed when it snows, I have to have 4 wheel drive. Or really good boots, lol. Id like to get a deisel and convert it to bio, Ive been looking into it, its expensive and lots of work, I wish I was more mechanically inclined.

Actually there is no conversion from diesel to biodiesel. The only difference is that you will be changing your fuel filter often until the biodiesel knocks all the junk loose in your fuel lines.

As for making your own there are many many books and websites out there. When we build our dome I plan on doing that. I did read somewhere that biodiesel freezes worse that gasoline (but don't get scared it's just a few degrees).

Resturants in my area now sell their oil, as people began to express interest. :snail:

Yeah I wondered how long it would take restaurants to realize they were giving away free fuel and not turning a profit.

See I talked to a mechanic friend and he said you had to buy a kit, that you couldnt just put oil in deisel, that it would ruin your motor. and blah blah blah, thats about all I heard from him, cause he lost me after motor.

That sucks that resturaunts are doing that, theyd normally have to pay to get rid of it, Id be asking them for money, lol

I bet that car pollutes like a son of a gunkinda like bogging a motorcycle down with 5 people, just more aerodynamic. I'd also bet the emissions laws would keep it out of the states

there is a farmer that has a biodiesel thingy in his barn for converting veggie oil to diesel, says the setup cost him about 2 grand, but he produces diesel for about 40 cents a gallon.

i hav heard there is this route, and also converting to run on veggie oil without turning it into diesel. the first diesel engine actually ran on straight peanut oil

I'm not sure if this is of any interest to you folks but propane conversions burn quite clean (to the point of no sooty deposits in engines and going 4-5 times as far on an oil change) and are not outrageously pricey, although i have no idea what lp is going for these days.

I pay 1.99 for propane, but im on a locked price some people are paying over 3$ for a gallon.

I saw a commercial a few weeks ago from an auto maker, that talked about hydrogen cars and "pods" to refuel them at home. I just remember who that was.
