Not handmade but a great idea :) If your gonna give roses, be fair ;)

I for one do not like getting flowers..anyone else? I mean I love flowers, just not when you have to buy them. The summer time, my house is FULL of em.

My husband has strict instructions not to buy me cut flowers. He's the type who use to spend 50 bucks on a dozen roses. (at least when he was trying to "whoo" me :D ) In my mind it is a complete waste of money.

I love to get living plants though. Instead of having to throw them out after a week, I can think of the person who gave them to me every year. I have tulips from my grandma, lavender from my mother-in-law and echinacea from my mom. They make me happy every spring. :)

ok Found one!

Make your own Candles

Looking for a fun Valentine's Day Project? This project couldn’t be easier!

You can buy the soap-making ingredients in a craft store:
-Meltable blocks of soap
-Tints or perfumes

Use what you've got or look in a cooking store for:
-Cookie cutter shapes to express your own particular style

Go outside and collect the following:
-Dried leaves or flowers, seashells

To make: cut the soap slabs into 1-by-1 inch cubes, place in a glass measuring cup or dish and melt them in a microwave. Follow the manufacturer’s direction for how long to cook the soap you buy.

Mix the soap tints or perfumes into the melted mixture. Then pour into a foil pan or foil-lined pie pan to get the desired thickness.

If you like, press any added decorations into the top of soap, deep enough so it won’t pop-out but so they’re still visible.

Let soap cool and harden.

Use cookie cutters to press out shapes.

Place a few in a soap dish for guests to use, use as party favors or wrap for gifts.
Get creative!

We do a cookie decorating party every year. I make sugar cookies and let the little ones have at it with different colors of frosting. They love it! I also make sandwiches and cut them with cookie cutters to make a festive snack. :D

Oh man... I miss beer. Gave up alcohol and caffeine.

UGH!

To be honest I don't miss it. But I miss the idea of it. It's like I am at a bar... and I am ordering Ginger Ale.

UGH!

I'm thinking about making a pizza and lighting a few candles around our home! Maybe some wine too. My husband and I don't really celebrate valentines day, but I think this could be nice :)

that sounds awesome Funkym!

I think staying in and doing something special is a great idea. Going out on Valentine's day is a nightmare - it's overpriced, crowded and like having a hallmark card forced down your throat.

I think i'll make some baked goodies for friends and family..drop those off early in the day, and then do something similar at home. I do like giving little V-day gifts.

I'm going to get my daughter & her friends together next week to make valentine's day 'placemats' and drop off at the local senior home. I think feb. can be kind of a dreary, rainy month..and Seniors need a little love this time of year.
