Heads up....the sky is falling.

The firing area seems to have been chosen so as to minimise the chances of debris falling anywhere other than in the ocean or North America, which could lend credence to the idea that the intercept is primarily aimed at safeguarding the satellite's technology.

the chances of this thing hitting anything but water and then to hit on land in a major city is unbelievably remote. it is definitely to keep the Russians and the Chinese from getting at it. when you think of how large russia and china are and then take into account their water access that makes it a no-brainer that is what the US gov. is concerened with.
