I was listening to the radio yesterday, they were talking about the plastic grocery bag thing. I was thinking, what about the cheap, worthless, crap hunks of plastic that make their way into the homes of MILLIONS of Americans by way of pestering children in the form of the HAPPYMEAL TOY! Which are so common place you're lucky if they hold your kid's interest before you get home. So TONS and TONS of this crap is going to the landfills, some now with batteries!!!! Just so the cardio terrorists at the Mc Dee corp. can pump your little darlings full till they look like ticks ready to explode. Any thoughts anyone? :(

...hehehe...hey peace_frog!
wow...i've never really thought of this before....I suppose people have the choice to reject these little plastic toys...but it would probably put the staff in a state of shock. I found an article dealing with the issues of junk toys in general:
http://www.mothering.com/articles/growing_child/consumerism/junk_toys.html

..and a hilariously stupid one about Legos:
http://www.mindfully.org/Plastic/LEGO-Floating-Flotsam.htm
....but yes i agree, its definitely something to think about:)

I do not take my son to mc dee's, if he doesnt know about the toys and crappy food then I am hoping he will never want to try it!! gross, gross, gross and ya those toys they give the kids are crap!! my sister takes her little girl there and I've seen the stuff they come home with, JUNK!! which she has like 3 huge toy box's full of! every year I take the toys from the previous year and give them to daycares or any orgination that excepts used toys so they dont go to waste and my son never miss's them because he is a new years eve baby and gets bombarded with stuff for like 3 weeks after christmas!! no fast food for my boy, strictly home cookin which is hard some times because he does see it and hear about it, or drive by the playgrounds mc dee's has and wants to play but no, I will not allow it!! there are lots of playgrounds that dont support such crapp!! so ya I agree basicly the toays are bad and are filling our land fills along with our roads, me and my son take walks and pick up trash along our road and more then half are mcdonalds cups bags, anything its sick!! so if we got rid os mc dees there would be alot less trash!! as you can see I could go on and on and on!! see ya! :D

I haven't seen the movie, but I heard about the fry experiment. The french fries looked the same after a month of sitting in a jar. Do other fast food fries do that too, or is this just some weird Mcdonald's phenomenom? Maybe its a curse from god... :p

So then in theory by eating them you should live forever.

If you like to read, I would definately recommend reading " Fast Food Nation".
It is so in depth behind these businesses that it scares me. I vow to never eat or when I have kids, let them eat fast food. Companies now, not just MCDee, targets little kids, even infants. Soda companies have made special bottles called Munchkins and they are for serving infants soda. This is horrible, it outrages me that companies are corrupting our children, who will end up with cavities and have weight problems...but it doesn't have to be that way...if we boycott them. Sorry, ok READ THE BOOK! lol
Peace!

Everything decomposes & rots. That's life. Everything else that I eat will rot if left out for a month. Basically, it breaks down. The Mc. fries, however, seem to be resistant to breaking down, hence, decomposition. How is that possible? A better question, what's that doing in your body? Are these chemicals safe for human consumption? Especially if shit-eating bacteria won't touch the fries?!? :p

No more french fries for me until I know they're safe to digest!

My husband and I have also chosen not to take our son to Mcdonald's or any other fast food joint. It shouldn't be considered a feat to have your child reach the age of one and never have tasted a french fry. But in this day and age it is. Really you wouldn't believe how many people have asked us if we have taken him to Mcdonald's for his first french fry yet. When we say no then they want to know when we are. I don't know what the fascination with watching small children eat fries is. That and people are always trying to give him chocolate or candy. What the hell! Quit trying to give my child crap. Although both our families are quite supportive I have had debates with my mother-in-law about Mcdonald's. She just seems to think it's inevitable that he will eat there. Which okay maybe it is but why do I have to speed up the process? And if he does't taste it and we don't eat there then whats the draw?
It really is quite sad how many times my niece eats there on a weekly basis. Her eating habits are atrocious. I get very concerned that her body is not receiving the nourishment it so desperately craves to be healthy.

I am so worried about children & their nutrition! I knew a 1 year old who was started drinking GATORADE at 6 months instead of milk or formula! And a 2 1/2 year old who drank mountain dew & ate McDonalds! WTF!? I just don't understand it. I don't know if people realize how serious their children's diets are. It makes me sick to see unhealthy children are these days :( I wish their was something I could do but I feel helpless. How about anyone else?

Yes, and I wonder what the statistic is for childhood diabetes in America. I was just reading an article in sierra club magazine about obeiseity among American children. We need to unplugg their Playstation, game cube, nintendo and kick their asses outside to "GO PLAY". MY SON'S BICYCLE IS LAYING IN THE DRIVEWAY< UNFORTUNATELY IT'S MOTOR IS PLUGGED INTO THE TV!!!

Does anybody else have a problem with people having a beef with the fast food companies? I read about people filing lawsuits, I hear people complain about marketing towards children and about how bad the food is for people. I think there are way too many people out there blaming the problems of themselves and their families on fast food companies. Anybody with an ounce of brain matter can look at fast food and realize it's not healthy, and that it's certainly no good for children. I want to tell all the people who blame McDonalds for making them fat and the lady who burned herself on the hot coffee to SHUT THE FUCK UP and take some responibility for your own life. Nobody is forcing you to eat at gunpoint, and it's your own fault you're suck a fucking clutz you spill you beverage.

Ooh, that low blood sugar will get ya.

You have a point, tho. Nobody holds a gun on people. Fast food places all have a nutritional chart, usually outside the bathrooms, in very small print. ;)

I think most of the lawsuits are instigated by people who see an "easy" way to make some big bucks. It's a big bandwagon. They don't want to cook thier own food. It's so easy to go through a drive thru and "poof"- instant food. That way they avoid planning meals, going to the store, all that prep work, all those dishes. Instead they grab food make by total strangers, gulp it down, then sit in front of the tv or video game all evening. Then they call a lawyer. Go figure

Japanese people eat relitively low carb, low fat diets they live longer than Americans, however Germans eat alot of fatty foods, drink alot of beer, they too live longer than Americans. The French, very rich food and alot of red wine they live longer than Americans. Chinese folks, very lean diet, not much in the way of red wine, and yet they also live longer than Americans. The thing is TOMAN, I think it is prolly safe to say that SPEAKING ENGLISH kills you!!!

Smoke rope and you'll live forever. Look at some of those rastafarians... those guys seem like about the healthiest people out there. Vegan diet, plenty of raw foods, 1/4 ounce of herb a day, you'll be immortal.

i agree, mc junk. it seems as if only bad can come from these evil fast "food" places. i had not thought of how much they were wasting when producing those useless toys. in addition to the health problems assosiated with there "food". fast food is not even food. it is fat and sugar with traces of animal parts packed together to make it taste good and make money. mah  . anyway....
