I think hillary would be on top, at least that is how the dream goes. Is America able to elect a black man and a woman? We have demonstrated that we enjoy riding the bandwagon to stupidville. :o

Sorry I didn't answer your question. Hillary on top. I listen to conservative talk radio and she is the one most feared, ergo, the best candidate.

I think 8 years of Hillary transitioning into 8 years of Obama is technically what would work best on paper. That would allow the country to move in a progressive manner that the morons in the bible belt could live with.
But I am gready and I want 8 years of hard-core lefty politics right now.
so I will say Obama.

Hillary isn't really very good. She has stated that security is more important than civil liberties. She voted in favor of the Patriot Act. I don't know how she plans on withdrawing troops from Iraq. I don't beleive she plans on doing anything about Guantanamo Bay, restoring habeus corpus, etc. She wouldn't legalize gay marriage, but settle for civil unions.
And then there was that whole video games thing, in which she wanted to ban/censor games with violent and explicit content. Now, I know that issue is a trifle and vastly overshadowed by a plethora of more important problems, but the fact that she was a leading proponent in a campaign for censorship speaks volumes for her character.
As far as I can tell, she's a social conservative.
I'd prefer Obama/Edwards.
or in fantasy land, Obama/Kucinich.

You are making my point.
The thing is, as much as I yearn for socialism, the thing is you can't do it overnight without tearing apart the social fabric of our country. We don't want revolution, we want change. Hillary would slowly transition the country (whether her intent or not) from George Bush to Barrack Obama. That would allow the economy to grow, allow people to grasp and come to terms with the changes, etc. etc.
If Obama is to be successful he will have to do so in this manner anyway. I would prefer to see some of that change in effect already when he took office so that he can make and implement the more drastic changes necessary to transform this country more on par to what they have going on over in the UK right now.

I cant imagine this happening, they cant get along as it is. But if it were to go down this way Id prefer Barack to be on top. I still cant believe this was thrown out there.
I dont trust her at all, she is power hungry. I think she has some things to prove and I dont want to be the guinea pig.
Barack/Kucinich would be sweet :)
Could Barack do that? How does that work? Is it there choice or does someone appoint a vp?

Hey, guys... don't hand the election to McCain.
You are trying to invoke change not failure.
I love Kucinich too... but he has no chance and he would only ruin Barrack's chances.
that is the truth.
Edwards is an interesting choice for Obama but Clinton would bring the swing vote and the Hispanic vote that has gone Republican the last couple of years.
The truth is that I believe a Clinton/Obama ticket is the surer thing than the Obama/Clinton ticket EVEN THOUGH I believe that Obama will win the primary.
John McCain is a seasoned politician. One mistake by Obama and he will take full advantage.
Hillary has Bubba's fast talking as her ace in the hole and she would have a very good public speaker and debater in Obama. Obama still could be president following her presidency. That would give us 16 years of progressing liberialism in office.
The US would be greatly different in those 16 years.
but hey, what do I know.... yeah, we will just pick whoever, regardless of numbers or polls or anything.
let's do everything based on our heart strings.

The other thing is that Clinton won Ohio... don't overlook that.
It's what screwed Kerry last time around.

You guys have it totally wrong about the republicans "fearing" Hilary. They want her to be the candidate because they are sure they can beat her. I think Obama has a much better chance of pulling the swing vote. He is charismatic and doesn't have too much of a record to explain. I really think that being on a ticket with Hillary would hold him back. People have very strong feelings about her. :D

don't get me wrong.. .I want Obama but he has his skeletons (or a woman or two) in his closet as well.
I don't really think McCain can beat either of them... but Obama has struggled with the swing vote other than the youth vote.
He does get the black vote but against McCain, Clinton would too.
Clinton also will do better with the old fogey vote than Obama which would hurt McCain.

obama, please... let's definitely NOT let mccain get in the way. as much as i would love to see a woman in office, i think obama perhaps is the way to go. either way will make history. mccain would just love another 4 billion years of war. and yeah, i agree hillary may be quite a bit power hungry. as naive as i probably sound, i feel like obama is genuine (at least more so than most)... but i'm a kucinich gal...and poor mike gravel, i really liked him. but yeah, obama on top, though hillary has devoted her life...i don't know. i do know that mccain doesn't stand a chance if people will vote. and to believe obama WON sc in the primaries shows a lot about who is out there to vote this time around (among other...reasons)...i'm a little worried about the backlash that would occur from either obama or hillary winning. so many people will be soooooo pissed. we'll never hear the end of it, but...anyway...

I'm fairly certain many Obama people - the independents and just left-of-center guys - would put their vote to McCain if it came between him and Hillary. A lot of these people would be blue-collar workers and Southerners that found appeal in Edwards.
Obama definately has a better shot against Mac than she does. A fair amount of Republicans are in fact pushing for her to win the nomination, because she's just as if not more polarizing than McCain.
And I don't see how being socially conservative would prep the nation for a social centrist (Obama). Economically it's a different story, but Barack isn't exactly Lenin...
Actually if anything I would say Obama would be a more adequate preparation for a more liberal direction.
