Go and read this story, its awefull.

there is about 100 million tons of debris floating, drifting, and swirling in the Pacific Ocean approximately 500 miles off the coast of California, stretching past the Hawaiian Islands, and extending almost to Japan.

The discovery of The Great Pacific Garbage Patch led Mr. Moore to become an environmental activist. He has recently warned consumers that if we do not cut back on our use of disposable plastics, this plastic soup will likely double in size over the next ten years

Ive really been trying to ween plastic out of our lives. Ive gotten glass storage dishes, I try to not buy anything in plastic, thats a hard one though. All kris's old cups are gone and recycled. So sad that its come to this, the poor ocean. I hope they can clean up that soupy mess.

It's really crazy how hard it is to buy things without plastic and to recycle plastic. I use to drive to the next town to recycle my plastics but they no longer except them. The closest place I know of is now 60 miles away! We go down there for family so I take them but it's rediculous. You would think with the price of oil they would be taking whatever they could get!

Thankfully they are recycling in my town, the 4h club and lions clubs do it and keep the money they make, ya they make money from it. I dont get why towns dont offer recycling. Its nuts.

Its crazy to think that this mass of garbage is just swirling around undetectable by plane, just some passer by happen to spot it. It chnaged his life too, thats the good part of the whole deal. Gotta find something good.

I'm glad where I live has an easy recycling program.
You just fill up your blue bin with recyclables and leave it by the side of the road. The recycle men come and get them from there.
They're usually pretty hot too...
They're all like 20yr old pretty buff men wearing no shirts xD

The amount of garbage is just sick though.
I don't know why we can't just stick all the garbage on a space shuttle, ship it to pluto, and never have to deal with it again.
