For those of you enjoying the Haiku thread... here is the Renga. I believe we did this once before.

In ancient Japan, they would have tea parties and write Renga's.

The format is thus (we will be strict here for sake of the exercise).

syllables -

first person posts a haiku of

5-7-5

then the next person posts 2 lines of

7-7

then the next person

5-7-5

then the next person

7-7

and so on and so forth. for those of you interested you can also make your own poems (preferrable not in this thread) of

5-7-5
7-7

and that is called a tanka.

so I will get us started in the next post.

the sparrows shrill chirp
natures alarm clock ringing
waking up the dawn

(now someone post a 7-7, followed by a 5-7-5)

1 post per person per day on this.

when I get back from the road I will see what you guys have come up with and put it all into one post!

I am kinda excited to see what everyone comes up with!
