"herbal" tea

i was looking for advice on how to care for a cannabis single plant in order to make tea out of it... i've been combing the net, and there isnt much but the generic 'how to grow pot' kind of thing... anyway, if anyone has any growing tips or good tea recipes, i'd love to hear them. thanx everyone.

To sum up, cannabis tea sucks and is pointless. What you want is green dragon tincture, which is an ISO extraction.

The growing tips give some basic growing information as well as a link to the best website there is for growing information.

thanx for the advice! however, i've actually had excellent cannabis tea before.. i was just wondering if anyone knew the recipe or if there was a special growing technique. i suppose i just assumed that others had had quality cannabis tea...hopefully there are more out there :confused:

For one thing, growing a single plant is not a practical thing to do, as you will find with a small amount of research. I don't know about marijuana tea, but I don't think such a thing exists; at least not that contains THC. Like delta said, the only thing like that is going to be some sort of extraction like green dragon which uses alcohol to extract the THC.

ok, single plant is because of space-issues, but thats not really the important part. i know i have had cannabis tea, but i really dont know how it was made. it could have been made using an extract somehow, i dont know, hence the post. :)

Ok, once again... THC is insoluable in water. Marijuana tea, that is steeping marijuana leaves, stems, and buds in hot water, has very little to no psychoactive properties. You can make "marijuana tea" by putting marijauna plant material into cheesecloth or an empty teabag or whatever and putting it into a cup of hot water, as you would do with, say, jasmine tea. You will end up with something that may or may not taste good, depending on how you feel about it, but it almost definately will not get you high, except possibly as a placebo effect.

THC is insoluable in water. If you boil it in water, you're just going to vaporise all the THC and it will leave the plant material but have no where to go... It is a BIG waste.

You need something to extract the THC, whether it be butter, peanut butter, or using a solvent like butane or alcohol (isopropyl alcohol is the preferred).

It's just scientifically not going to happen with plain water. What little, if any, THC DOES manage to get into the water is a tiny fraction of what you COULD have gotten by other methods, thus you are totally wasting your time and your bud. Don't do it.

Make hash, honey oil, or tincture (green dragon). You will be much happier with the results.

i already knew that thc is not water soluable, i posted earlier that i thought it was made with an extract of some sort, such as regualr tea spiked with this extract...i did not mean that this tea i've sampled was made by conventional means, hence my curiousity in the first place. thanx for everyone's advice tho.

So we've established the fact THC is hydrophobic...
So forget the tea and consider a variant of hot buttered rum...
you can infuse both the rum and the butter...

1 oz Light Rum
1 tsp Sugar
1/2 tsp Butter
clove, cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg to taste.



Add the sugar, butter and spices to a coffee mug. Pour the rum, and stir well. Fill with steaming water. Stir again, and serve.

YUM! :D

i knew that THC is not water soluable, and you kept assuming i didnt even though i said i already knew. my point was, was that i had had 'herbal' tea (even though it might not technically have been tea in the traditional sense), and didnt know how the person made it or what extract they used. that was the information i was looking for, and hell, i even got a recipe which just helps even more. maybe i mis-communicated as to what i was looking for, and im sorry if i threw anyone off.

She didn't tell you how to extract it... toman and I pointed you in the right direction... twice ;). The recipe she gave helps you use your final product but does not tell you how to obtain it.

the single plant part, as i stated in an earlier post wasnt important, maybe it was just morbid curiousity. but i was just basically looking for someone who had something similar to what i had, and thats the info she gave along with a simple recipe, which sounds like it might taste similar to what i've tasted... maybe she hit it right on the dot? we'll see... ;) the rest of the info i had already for well, most of it anyway; i had just been wondering if there was another way. new ideas are always fun. anyway, you were helpful too, i just happened to find exactly what i was looking for in that particular post is all. :)
