Hi there,
I'm new here, have been looking for another forum to call home, and this one seems great. Right up my ally.

I've always made my gifts, I'm very crafty and love to paint, as well as woodwork.
What I find myself doing, is trying to find something that is special to that particular person, something that they really have unique to themselves. Weather it be a favorite animal or item, or something they like to eat or do, something that is a symbol of who they are and using that I try and do something with it that no one else could possibly do.
I also try and always incorporate a part of myself into it as well, weather it be the man hours it took to make, or utilizing a special talent you have.
To me its more special if its truly unique, and something only you could do.

If all else fails, do for them the thing that they hate doing themsleves.
For example the dirty work, like cleaning, or organizing....something that person hates doing is always nice.

Longterm presents are great too.
Something that you can do for them all year, for example lawn work, keeping the car sparkling clean, making a special dinner every friday... those presents are my favorite, it really makes life feel more special.

Good luck running a home business. My wife and I had one for 5 years and we shut it down for many reasons. But we had fun doing it. We weren't rolling in the dough but we liked what we did.
