With all the bad things the media keeps pumping into the mind, how is one able to stay in balance? Maybee a media vacation is in order? If we make our own realities with our own minds, shouldn't we programme our Selfs to be at ease with the World around us? As it is within, so it is without-or-Don't worry, be a Happy Hippie.

I haven't seen or heard the media since April or so. And life is sweet, living in my own world, taking care of what I need to take care of without worrying about some story that may or may not be true. They are out of my life forever.

Hello again Shydog! (Inspiring story about your dog by the way! ) :)

And hello Pedita! I just wanted to say, that Pedita is right. Why let the world outside and around you burn you down when you can make your own peace within yourself? The media has spirled out of control, and like Pedita, I want no part of it. Peace Out! ~Emili~**:hippie:

Ahh....like minds :)

Hi Emili, how long have you been media free?

Surely there are others in here that are the same?

I stay way from the media as far as celebrities and I dont really watch the news. I dont like all that gossip who's who crap. I could care less about actors and actress's and who they are sleeping with this week.

But I do read alot, esp about the election and the local paper. I dont watch tv, we watch movies but no tv.

I haven't watched tv for close to 7 years now. I mainly attribute it to hating comercials with a passion. since then I have one hell of a dvd collection. lol

I do check out the major news happenings on the internet daily but mainly because I need to for some of my classes.

Thank You Pedita! (Hi Adam!!)
I avoid the news and media at absolute all costs. I try to gather most of my much needed info (weather, school closings, ect.) by listening to the radio. I like to watch movies, but none of this bogus new crap. I like old stuff like John Wayne and James Bond. Well, thats all for now, Peace Out!

.....hating comercials with a passion.

Same here. Do they make you mad? I get so ticked off at them, or used to, got rid of the cable a few months ago. I see too many kids, and adults, completely brainwashed by them. Commercials have a way of making people think they're lives will be so much better with a certain product.

I'm building up my movie collection. So nice to not have commercials.
