I planted a more mainstream cultivar this year (last season I planted the white ones), and it looks like there'll be more than the two fruits I got last time. :D

Two is all I have this year, there little Cream of Saseqetuan, I happy to have them. Almost ripe.

Yes - bitter melons, or sometimes called bitter gourds. My seeds came from evergreenseeds.com, they're the Taiwan large shown here: http://www.evergreenseeds.com/bitgourtaiwl.html

Yeah, it's a plug of sorts, I've had good luck with the seeds I bought from them. I also raised some "Asian melons" that are like a milder canteloupe but with a pale smooth skin like a muskmelon, they're good to eat and extremely prolific. The wax gourds (winter melons) didn't come up which was my fault for rushing things, but most of what I bought are tropical and I live in Zone 6. I found out it's important to plant that type of thing pretty late, rush the season and the seeds rot in the ground before they can sprout.
