you'll have to pardon my lack of recollection on this, but i was listening to NPR on the way to work friday and they were interviewing some fairly importatnt guy whom i can't recall. they were asking him if he supported the bailout
i can only paraphrase his answer, since i cant recall the story or the guy but his response was basically ...the reason i didn't support this before, and i will not support it now, or ever is that we are giving them 700 billion dollars, and it will basically be overseed by 4 people, three of them were appointed by the current administration, and very likely to be replaced in the next few months by who knows.

thats a scary thing.

The theory that they will 'buy out the bad' debt is just that..theory. It will be tedious, and for the gov., virtually impossible, to separate out the bad loans in the 'loan bundles'. Banks, investment groups bought bundles of loands that have 1000's or mortgages in them each. How are they going to go thru each of those and pick them out? I don't think the banks even know where they are.

The only good that will come out of this is some people will feel like the gov. is back in control of the situation.

I know that there is alot more that goes into it than just coming up with a catch phrase... but really, I belive that if mj was legalized, 1: I know alot of people who whould be really really happy, 2: The government could tax buyers (and you know there would be buyers) 3: The taxes could be used to pay off the entire national debt 4: It would be cheeper to buy than it is now! I feel that Americans got themselves into this debt and its high-time they did somthing themselves to get out of it instead of relying on loans from other countries and taxes from the people. And why not do it in a way that will help people feel good? Im sorry if Ive offended anyone by referencing drugs, but this is nothing more than my opinion and I am entitled to it just as you are yours. Peace Out, I love you all! ~Emili:hippie:
