Boyscout camp at Camp Brule. The theme was "The day of knights" Kris and the boys had a blast!!! So did I!!!

Heres the lake, it was beautiful. We walked all the way around that lake. There were diff stations set up so the kids could learn about living in midevil times.

i have lots of armor, if he wants to make some for himself i i can show you where to get him started, it'll be a dark path of an angry mother picking rings out of the couch and bits of metal clogged in the vaccum.

me and a few friends did a presentation at a school once. all the cool stuff and what they liked best was when we chopped the watermelon with a sword.

looks like a blast. good to see it being a lot hands on. do you ever take him to ren fests? cast in bronze regularly does the Pittsburg ren fest and that is something not to be missed (it's over for the year, maybe next year)

this is from last summers michigan ren fest before i chopped the locks. we were waiting our turn on the rockwall

Thats funny! Who put you up to taking the mouse, lol

Kirs had a blast, he is so into everything midevil now. We are going to the library one night this week to get some books. The next pack meeting we have will be midevil inspired. We have a ren fair like 3 hours from here its only in august though, next year for sure!

Im pretty sure I know what Kris will be for halloween this year too :kngt:

alex wanted me to take mr mouse so i didnt get scared of any monsters, i took him everywhere and got pictures wherever i went. probably 3/4 of my vacation pictures have mr mouse in them somewhere

a good book that might slip by your looking, but libraries usually have it is castle by david macaualy. first medieval book i got from a book club in grade school, started the knight thing for me and now i make armor with the best of them.

Thats so great! I would have done the same thing, I bet people wondered about you and your mouse, lol.

That book looks great, maybe a good christmas gift. Kris is a great reader he's in first grade and reads at a 4th grade level, he sounds out words so fast, big words, it amazes me. Sorry that was a shameless plug wasnt it :D

I think im going to make his costume, Ive gotta get started. Then he will have something to play with too. I looked at some costumes and there made so cheap.

he he he

general answer, yes, I have enough tie dye to last a month, but the answer is all yes. I sold shirts on the jobsite prior to going to raise some souviner money. ended up pushing about 70 shirts out in 3 weeks. about 60 more than i figured i could sell.

did you see the video?

enough with the off topic

libra...other things to feed the search engines for your costume ideas or techniques also plug them in ebay and it'll turn up stuff ppl are selling and you can rob ideas

I learned how to make chain mail years ago while hanging out with the midevil and fantasy society on the catonsville comm. coll. campus, made a few little things and a vest for a friend of mine but haven't done it in yeras. I would love to get all the stuff to make myself a chainmail shirt, it would go great under my breast plate... I'll post a pic of that at some point after I wear it next.

not sure on prices lately but tractor supply has everything you'd need for about $40 (except a lot of time)
