OK, I'm "muralling" the VW Van.

Does anyone have any tips on making like stencils, or whatever to get a common picture on to another surface?

I can freehand a lot of stuff, but I'm a Submarine Sailor and would really like to put my "dolphins" (the Submariine Warfare Pin) on the back of the van, but it's kind of intricate.

I'm thinking maybe "shining" it up on a wall, tracing it, then using crayons on the back and transferring it to the van.

God, that seems too hard in this day of computers and what not.

Any suggestions?

On another note, a girl friend of my just brought me a beautiful hand carved "peace" necklace.

So, life is good.

Alice promises we will take pictures of what is done so far and post this weekend.

(Jeez, I hope she has a camera)

You could use an old overhead projector to show photos up on (that are printed on clear sheets) the van, then you can sketch it directly on the van. You could also look and see if there are any art car message boards. They might have more tips.

Unkle John, I should have thought of that.

Since getting a SmartBoard at work, our overhead projectors have been in storage.

I'll have to drag one out and give it a whirl.

Thanx!

Wow Forrest, I followed the link, and didn't see anything about Submariners or VW Van's...did I miss something?

I will post some pictures tomorrow, but please remember this is my own personal paint job, and artwork...I'm not an artist.

I was talking of the link at the end of Forrest's post, but maybe that's at the end of all his posts...don't know.
