1 pound paraffin
Cinnamon or gingerbread candle scent
Candle color (optional)
Pine Cones
Cooking pot
Coffee Can (metal)
Tongs
Waxed Paper
Newspapers

Fill the pot 1/3 full of water. Let it warm on medium heat. Place the paraffin in the coffee can and set the can in the pot of water. Leave on stove until the wax melts completely. (While you're waiting for the wax to melt, cover the work area with several thicknesses of newspaper and top off with a sheet of waxed paper.) Remove melted wax from heat and add candle scent.
Use the tongs to dip one pine come at a time into the wax. Let the excess drain off, then place on waxed paper to harden.

that sounds like alot of work... a friend of mine showed me a faster and easier "on the spot" way of making something simular. You just take a dry opened pinecone off the ground, soak it in a little gas while your setting your fire pit up then remove the pinecone from the gas with a stick and place it under your wood on your kindling then light. We suggest using a good stick match... maybe one of those fireplace matches. :bat::bat:

That would work for guys like you and me Adam. But as for giving them as gifts, not everyone can tolerate the scent of gas or kerosene. :25:
